OMG. Wow. Timewarp. This movie is bringing back memories. What's his name from ER? Yeah, one of his first roles. I still remember the Jerry Curl splattering all over the place whenever he shook his head. Eeeeew!

Made in an age of gleeful innocence, in which political correctness was not yet an issue. Take the unforgettable "Ghetto Olympics" scene, for example, in which the contestants must sprint while carrying tvs and stereos and being pursued by dobermans.

I love this flick and I finally bought it on DVD. It is a hoot of a parody of all the blaxploitation films over the years like Shaft,  Superfly and the rest. Please read VirileVagabond's review for a good sketch of this movie.

Really funny movie. Holds up well...My absolute favorite part is the scene where Chris Rock comes into the little restaurant where Isaac Hayes is working before he joins the team..."Pour it in my hands for a dime." Hilarious, must- see film.

Directed and written by Keenen Ivory Wayans (of In Living Color fame), I'm Gonna Git You Sucka! (1988) is probably one of the least appreciated cult films at this time. Essentially a parody of blaxpoitation films of the early 1970's, this movie is a must see for fans of this type of comedy and irreverent humor. For the uninitiated, Jack Spade (Keenen Ivory Wayans) returns from his stint in the army to find that his brother has died from an overdose of gold chains and his remaining family at the mercy of the evil white villain Mr. Big (John Vernon). The supporting cast (eg John Slade (Bernie Casey), Hammer (Isaac Hayes), Slammer (Jim Brown) Kung Fu Joe (Steve James) and the former Pimp Of The Year Flyguy (Antonio Fargas)) are straight out of the parodied genre that only adds to the farce. The bottom line is that I'm Gonna Git You Sucka! is not only funny and a great cult film, but makes a social statement that remains relevant by contemporary standards.
