10/17/2007 | The symbol is called a Zia and the red and yellow colors represent the Spanish conquistadores who explored this land. The symbol was found on an ancient jar at the Zia Pueblo in New Mexico and represents the sun. I think it is beautiful, simple, and meaningful.

09/25/2004 | This has to be a joke. Listen up people- just because the designer was to lazy to put more than two colors and one symbol onto the flag does NOT make the flag a quite striking example of the old adage 'less is more' !
