I have just heard that Mississippi had approved the US Constitution's 13th amendment in 1995. By looking at this flag and this fact, this state is a racist state. I did hear that they would have a circle of 20 stars on its canton to hide its bad history, but NO! These people like this one as it is one state proud of its Confederate heritage and slavery.
Shame!

To begin with: ugly design. Secondly, when are these rebel mutants gonna give on that "proud heritage" BS already and enter the 21st century? Proud of your traditions of human beings considered mere chattel? Proud of the memories of the Klan's nightly rides? Proud of the enduring legacy of Jim Crow? Proud of the reminder that y'all got your butts stomped by True Americans? Proud of a grossly inhumane value system? Enough already, you redneck scumbags. Thirdly, not only is the stars and bars a crapsymbol with racist overtones, it also bears strong connotation as a symbol of the most flagrant episode of treason in our nation's history. You trailer park white trash a-wipes should be hanging your heads in shame rather than continuing to honor the disgusting traditions of your pig vomit ancestors. But, that's Mississippi, for you: a crappy sixth-rate state, with a seventh-rate populace. Actually, you could nuke South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, half of Georgia and most of Texas off the face of the map and this world would be a much better place for it.

Hey! That looks like the flag of a losing army to me!

I've never been to the south in my life but i like the flag because it looks cool and its proof that even if you are outnumbered, outgunned, and out everything, you can still lay an ass whippin if you believe. Look at the civil war stats for reference.

I never realized until now that this flag is a combo of the Stars and Bars and the Confederate Battleflag.

Mississippi State Flag is further proof that the winner of the war between the states imposed their culture upon the vanquished. Proof of this? Nascar in VERMONT ! Country Music Awards Show in NEW YORK ! etc...etc....etc.. Mississippi Flag was voted on by residents of MISSISSIPPI and overwhelmingly supported by said citizens. This is called democracy in action for the rest of y'all. Get over it. Too bad the northern states have very LITTLE to be proud of. Get the pollution and crowded ghettos out of your own eyes before picking on Mississippi. Unreconstructed and proud of it ! skippy

The Confederate symbol is a racist one- it was designed as a racist one and was fought under as a racist one- federalism was rejected by the Confederacy, and it has nothing to do with 'Southern pride'

It does look like the French and Confederate flag mushed together. Shouldn't the south just get rid of the whole stars and bars thing? I would think that this would be a ugly reminder of getting their asses kicked in the Civil War.

I think the confederate flag staying on in mississippi is pure proof that they arent americans!

Looks french and racist at the same time, there's some thing to brag about. Flags like this one give the south a bad reputation. Please some one explain why minorites should not find this flag offensive.

A flag only a Mississippian could love.

Arguably the best flag in America. You've got to give Mississippi credit for being the only southern state who didn't back down from the ridiculous demands to remove the COnfederate battle flag from their flag. But you've got to remember the people of MS were actually allowed to vote on whether to change the flag or not, resulting in a 3 to 1 vote to keep it. Honestly, if a popular vote was taken in the other states who were forced to change their flags (i.e. Georgia), I'm sure they would have kept there's too. And why weren't they given the chance to vote? Is this not a democracy? Government officials shouldn't make decisions despite what the majority of the public may want.

I just don't think this flag is too good-looking.
