This flag needs a complete re-working. I'd keep the blue. A flag should not have the name or a coat of arms.

Not hideous, but without the lettering identifying Kansas, this flag is difficult to identify. And that lettering is awful.

So bland that the designers included the name of the state in prominent letters in order to distinguish it from all the other similar flags. It might as well read.. Kansas.. or some other state very much like it.
