I really like the use of the eagle. The image quality of the picture above isn't good enough to read it, but the text is: "Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain."

Leave the Eagle and take out the wording and add stars.

Another state that uses the French tri-color as its basic design. Loses points for including the name of the state on the fly, however. That takes away from the aesthetic effect.. and wasn't necessary.
