Only someone with as pitifully whiny a voice as Vanessa Carlton could mangle the Stones. Her & any other of the xeroxed teen queens floating out there in the land of self-delusion and idiocy.

It's okay but I'm sure the original is much better. I wasn't too impressed with this one because it seems too...happy.

I've heard a lot of people cover Paint it Black like U2 and Jonny Lang, and they've done it well. Vanessa Carlton though...I don't know about that. It sounds like she is speaking the song and not singing it. Definitely not an appropriate cover for her. She took a great song and turned it into crap.

No way could this classic, extremely famous song ever be recreated, let alone by someone as upbeat as Vanessa Carlton. She just obliterated the very spirit of the song.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Somehow sweet-voiced, chipper-sounding Vanessa Carlton manages to pull this dark Stones cover off.
