Can't go wrong in this department. It always helps to have a few trustworthy friends with whom you can go through things and share your troubles.

Supportive words, kindness, understanding, dependability, courage, inspiration, trust, confidence, love - those things come to my mind when I think of my friends. They are loyal souls and great advisors, good teachers and unpretencious students, and very beautiful people. God bless them all!

You don't have to have tons of friends-but if you don't have a true friend or two, there must be something very wrong.I count my many good friends among my highest blessings!

There are some people I know who live a seemingly happy lifestyle and are relatively friend-less. For me though, friends are vital to being happy because they help bring me back down to Earth when it looks like I officially got a time-share on Mars. Plus, having friends when your young is especially important because it helps to develop social skills.

Old friends, distant friends, absent friends, new friends. They're all good, and they're all a key part of the joy of life.

Friends (good ones) rank right up there with family as an essential ingredient of happiness. Friends come in all sizes, shapes, colors, and persuasions (take that as you will). I even have a couple of Democrats I rate as really good friends!

Friends are an invaluable ingredient to general happinness. Whenever my friends and I hang out, it often leads to treasured memories and a hope that these get-togethers will happen again in the future. It doesn't matter whether you are a child, a teen or an adult, friends are always essential for support in difficult times. There have been many times in my life where I don't get-together with my friends or I don't have any friends with me and I really live to regret it for being too shy to make other friends at get-togethers.

If I call someone a true friend, then they are family to me. My friends always make me happy whether we are fighting or not. They are a big deal in my life. One of my favorite quotes: Friends and music make the world go round.

The happiest people spend good chunks of their day in positive relationships they find enjoyable. They also don't rely on just one person to meet every single one of their affiliation needs. If you are missing a satisfying relationship with a romantic partner and/or family members, associating with good friends can do wonders to fill an affiliation void. Since good friends don't fall off trees, earnest efforts to be social puts you in the right direction for greater happiness. Seldom is anything lost from joining many activity groups and making it a point to be a friend to many individuals in your place of employment or home community. None of us can expect to gain and keep good friends until we make it a daily habit to be a good friend to others.

Friends whom you can rely on through thick and thin are important. Having a broad range of friends makes life even more interesting and rewarding.

What I would consider essential is that my love to be my friend as well.

I guess the opposite would imply that you have no friends, and don't have any opportunity to make future friends. Sounds pretty dreary to me.

Essential. There's nothing better than those old, dependable, faithful friends who stay with you, and it is a delightful pleasure to make new ones, which always can be done with a little effort.
