Dreadful. He was a tired old fart when he was in his 20s. I can imagine how ossified he is these days. His songs are maudlin, mindless ditties designed for losers singing along with the jukebox near closing time in the middle of the work week. You get the feeling that he suffers from really bad gas.

As some of the prior reviewers have noted, Bob Seger is rather middle of the road in my opinion notwithstanding his ranking at #4 as of this comment. Seger can be a better than average songwriter and both "Mainstreet" and "Night Moves" remain classic rock staples (for good reason), but his latter material got rather average and formula. In the end, certainly no better than three stars when compared to the strong competition on this list.

A couple of OK tunes here and there, but I am not a big fan. Too commercial for my tastes.

As a Thin Lizzy fan, we have good old Bob Seger to thank for 'Rosalie'!
"Here's a number recorded by Bob Seger... a number called Rosalie!"

In George Brett fashion, this artist's career kind of snuck up on me and I wondered why I never noticed him before. . .solid body of work, memorable songs, classic rock feel that is timeless. . .loses one star for that irritating truck-ad-song that was played 13X during every football game. . .but "Night Moves" and "Mainstreet" are some underrated songs. . .

a bit too commercial, but a good guy. the fact that he still lives in the detroit area proves he has less of an ego than most rockers..
