Despite any side-effects, it is certainly an effective and potent way of reaching euphoria.

Albuterol during an asthma attack? Euphoric...

Morphine during a heart attack? Euphoric...

Geritol? I dunno yet...stay tuned...

Absolutely a cause of euphoria, as brief, hollow, shallow or dangerous as it may be. Pretending otherwise is the greatest of follies.

In all the "Just Say No" silliness of recent years, or "Dare", the propagandists never really address this. It's pathetic to say, I guess, but say it I will: some of the happiest, most joyous times I've ever experienced in my life were when I was stoned. Not happy, not giddy, not silly (although I was alternately all of those things) but euphoric. Unfortunately, that euphoria is impossible to sustain without killing yourself, and drugs invariably take more than they ever give. It's taken me way too long to learn that particular lesson, but I like to think its finally starting to sink in.

Come on, what's going to get me really excited... yoga, or adderall? Just kidding, drugs are bad, just say no.
