Loved both of them! They stayed pretty close to the original and added some updated flair....one of my all time favorite movies and that goes for the original and remake. Maureen O'Hara was a little cattier though which made her funny.

I love this film, more so than the original. The cast did a wonderful job of updating an old classic, with great chemistry and a charm from Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson and Lindsey Lohan that lit up the screen. Elaine Hendrix was hilarious as the villianess Meredith. It was interesting to see such an amusing portrayal, as opposed to the straight annoyance of the original. And I thought it was a terrific touch to tap the original villianess as the mother of the current! While I dearly loved Una Merckel as Verbena in the original, I loved Lisa Ann Walter and Simon Kunz just as much in this. Lisa Ann exuded the same amount of warmth combined with no-nonsense "you ain't getting past me" attitude, and Simon was just flat hysterical as the James' butler. Overall, I thought it was just a great film. The kind that gives you a nice warm fuzzy all the way through.

My wife told me the Haley Mills version was much better. I wouldn't know because I slept through it.

I liked it.You could see the same spark in Lindsey that We saw in Miss Mills.A good updating.

I thought this was horrible. Where the original was sweet, the new version was obnoxious. Where Hayley Mills was adorable and fun, Lindsay Lohan was annoying and fake. One of the worst remakes I've ever seen.
