 | G1GDY (0) 12/15/2003 | I have the 5555 and for what I need (mobile) it fits the spec - use it with Autoroute 2004 and pocket streets to great effect and pocket Excel helps me keep up to date with Expenditure and mileage data - so even at 400 sterling I think its usefull - only bad point sync system sucks.

 | JRay (0) 09/02/2003 | I have the IPAQ h2215 and it is the best I have ever had. I can't say enough about it.

 | actuator (0) 03/05/2003 | Incredibly good color, and very responsive screen. A huge step up from the trouble-plagued Palm M505 I had before.
However, I was disappointed that there was no easy way to translate my Palm data to the iPAQ. I had to go through a complicated process, and much of the data didn't translate right.
Only other problem: It takes a long time to learn the more complicated and more powerful PocketPC operating system. It may have more bells and whistles than most people need to cary in their pockets.

 | zibarts (0) 11/02/2001 | Like it very much, expecially after installing the latest PC Pocket 2002 from Microsoft, this PDA becomes vurtually extraordinary. But with it's price, I'd settle for the Sony Clié.

 | rbSushi (0) 07/03/2001 | Looks great initially, until you begin using it.
Way too expensive for a model with enough memory to do much (64MB). Apps seem to take a lot of resources.
Pocket PC Office is very limited.
If you plan on playing MP3's, then this is not enough memory so you will need a sleave.
Sleave defeats the small size. And to add most anything, you need a sleave. The sleave makes it too big to carry in your pocket comfortably so it defeats the whole portability concept.
OS leaves a lot to be desired. Clunky. Not intuitive.
Screen looks good -- eventhough limited colors available.
Battery life is short with backlighting on.
Overall, a big disapointment. Maybe they will get it right the next time...

 | PoorOldEdgarDerby (4) 02/01/2001 | A friend of mine recently purchased one of these and can't say enough good things about it. He brought it along on a recent trip and we were all tooling around with it and I can see the attraction it's a fun toy. He had downloaded the trailer from the Star Wars pre-quel (sp?) onto it and kept playing it back for us, which I have to admit was pretty amazing. Great little gadget and a nice design but personally I can't see myself having too much use for 1 minute video clip on my handheld computer. Neat trick but I would have a hard time justifying the cost of the iPAQ for that alone and other than that video feature it wasn't much different from any other handheld. What am I going to do with a 1 minute video clip? Watch it again and again and again on a plane trip? I'd rather save a few bucks now and perhaps when they are powerful enough to actually hold a whole movie then, maybe, cough up the dough for the next generation. ADDITION TO ORIGINAL COMMENT: Just wanted to add that I recently saw my friend who purchased the iPAQ and he has already traded it in for a Cassiopia (this is 4 months later). When I asked him why he sort of shrugged and said basically it was a neat toy but comparably not worth the money. When I said "but what about the movie clip?" he simply said it sucked up too much memory. Oh well.
