 | Humorbot (23) 12/01/2006 | Awake was the right name for this album, as that is the only song on the album that is worth listening to in my opinion.
The cover art is cool too.

 | Thorne (3) 12/17/2001 | A huge let down from a band that sucks anyways. I sorta liked these guys when their original self titled c.d. was released and I was slowly converting from crap rock like Godsmack to music with more of a deptha nd overall creativity. At least on the first album the songs sounded a little different. On this album, each song is almost identical. The same vocals, the same guitar riffs, the same blah, blah, lyrics. Atleast with their first album they were pissed. This album they just seem to be whinning about how unfair the world is. The world really is unfair if you think about it. In a world were a band as intelligent, versitile, artistic and breakthrough as the Deftones has to open up for a radio friendly drone of modern "rock" like Godsmack, yeah, what this album is talking about makes sense. But it is also a sad reminder of how horrible the current music scene has become.

 | Talena (0) 12/16/2001 | This CD is one of the best CDs I have bought in a long time. I have been a fan of Godsmack since their really early days, and this CD is a prime example of Godsmack's musical talent. From the electrifying opening track "Sick Of Life", to the high-energy, pure power-driven instrumental "Vampires", to the mystical, tribal sound of "Spiral", Godsmack's sophomore effort takes you on a wild ride. Overall, the CD seems to be a little more darker and heavier than their self-titled debut, which is just as good. One thing that is unique about Godsmack is their use of guitar solos, in which you hear on just about every song. You don't hear solos like that in nu-metal nowadays, it is very rare. But Godsmack pulls them off amazingly. The guitar riffs are heavy, Sully's vocals are excellent (he has some powerful vocals for such a small guy!) nd the melodies are beautiful...Sully sings from his Wiccan heart. All in all, it's a terrific CD. I recommend it to any fan of hard rock/metal, or to anyone that is looking to get into a band with a high level of talent...they are truly gifted and not so superficial like a lot of today's metal bands.

 | PrincessLeah (0) 01/06/2001 | Take a few pleasant melodies, jack them up a few decibals, add a little distortion, a touch of intensity, a wicken crew and you have the formula for Godsmack. As hardcore as it may seem, the album has an underlying sense of musical taste that is undeniable. If you need a soundtrack to which to vent, this is it.

 | XxGaMeZ (0) 12/14/2000 | This CD is good. A few really good songs here and there but for the most part this cd is average. It would definately suggest this to godsmack fans and people new to there music
