My guess is that the "Dell Dude" ad campaign started out as a single spot that proved so successful that the company created more, and these ads obviously helped to differentiate Dell from its competitors, obviously key in a low margin industry. I can see how the dude was appealing to young men, but I wonder how well they worked for adults. Nevertheless, when the actor got busted for drug possession, the campaign came to an end, and its successor (remember the young interns?) proved to be short-lived.

The Dell dude got busted for weed about a year ago so that was the end of the those commercials. Before that though I thought he was putting a hip spin on Dell.

He gained national recognition as "Steven," a hip teenager who convinces his parents, his friends' parents and random people at the mall to buy computers from Dell. The ad campaign was hugely successful for Dell Computer Corp.

This was my favorite commercial. To bad that it seems Steve has been blackballed since getting busted for pot. I think he's hilarious

Lame...like TOTALLY, dude.

I liked the 1st ones, but then they got worse and just got really annoying.

The best dell commercials ever. I still say Dude, your gettin a dell, to people all the time.
