After he screwed over Senate Democrats in 2004, during his disastrous tenure as chair of the DSCC, he almost repaid his debt to society when he decided to ride in a speeding car without a seat belt, which happened to crash, resulting in a number of broken bones.

UPDATE: He won the governorship, and on Friday the 13, 2007, we learned that he suffered a bad traffic accident, on the way to mediate the Don Imus-Rutgers basketball team dispute, and is in intensive care. ORIGINAL COMMENT: Bought his senate seat--should be able to buy the governorship.

While I don't agree with him on most policy, he's a straight shooter who actually writes some pretty good legislation.

If anyone could put a face on marxism, his face would do.

A true hipocrate. The left always says they are the party of the people, but this guy is one of the wealthiest men in the United State. Another communist who is soft on islamo fascism.

This man paid some 50 million dollars to purchase a seat in the senate. Fool that I am, I thought he might actually do some good, once elected. However, he has just sat on his rich butt and done NOTHING. Why did he even bother? For the free postage???

As much as I hate to be critical of a fellow Illinoisan, there's something inherently wrong about a rich investment banker buying himself a senate seat. His senate career to date has been completely indistinguished.

Corzine is a Senator from New Jersey; generally liberal on most issues. This guy spent about 61 million dollars to get into office four years ago. He was an investment banker with Goldman Sachs before getting into politics, he never held public office before going to the Senate. The Democrats look to him for guidance on economic matters but he knows relatively little on those types of issues. I think he won in large part because he managed to overwhelm his opponent by spending a huge amount of money. The guy who opposed him only spent about 5 million to Corzine's 61 million! His opponent had a better portfolio in government and was no doubt more suitable to represent NJ, but still lost by a narrow margin despite the monetary advantage Corzine had. I understand that it's all part of the game, but it tells you the role that money plays in politics and defining one's opponent.

Well, it looks like at least a few of mindless masses are on to Corzine in some respects. I followed Corzine's race in New Jersery through the primary and general and had a web site that detailed his involvement in the Bilderberg Group,to which Corzine is on the steering committee. Not one word of his membership in Bilderberg was raised by anyone on either side during the campaign. If your not up to snuff on Bilderberg, contact me and I'll provide some background on Bilderberg's love affair with New Jersey. A dangerous organization in it's own right, and Jon Corzine is their stay behind agent in the US Senate. He was in attendance this year also.

Way to go, Jon! You spent a bazillion dollars to get into office...and what have you done so far? S-Q-U-A-T. Go back to Goldman Sachs.

I respect this man for his accomplishments and initiatives since he took office in 2000. He is a leading advocate in protecting the Social Security System and extending Medicare benefits to provide affordable prescription drug coverage to our elderly citizens. Senator Corzine introduced legislation that directs states to put together plans to deal with the threat of biological or chemical attacks. He also cosponsered legislation providing a two year tax break to victims of the terrorist attacks. He is also against racial profiling. Seems to be a good man who earned his way to the top.

The only reason why this guy got into office is because New Jersey is a liberal state, and Corzine has a lot of money to burn. He is not impressive, and he has little, if any political experience. He was an officer with Goldman Sachs, which is where he undoubtedly earned his money.
Gecklund311 01/14/2003
Don't people care that this man ran a company (Goldman Sachs) that was in business to screw investors out of their money? Before he paid for his Senate seat, Corzine presided over plenty of hot internet and technology IPO's that ended up costing the public billions. Since he has plenty of his own money he has no qualms in advocating heavier taxes for those in the upper and middle classes who are still trying to make their fortunes.

Tax and spend, self-loathing, socialist millionaire.

just proved you can buy a office with enough money

Its sad to see that a person can buy an election. But at least those of us who live in New Jersey don't have to see and hear his annoying comercials anymore. Bob Franks has experience and has many positive acheivements on his record. Its sad to see he lost to the allmighty dollar. Corzine cares about only one thing, power. All of his proposals include record breaking new spending. And where do you think that money will come from? Us! He is not just a problem for New Jersey but for the entire country since he is a senator. Hey Mr. Corzine. Since you think this country has to spend so much more why don't you spend your own money? If you can spend $ 65 million on a campaign, then you must love your country enough to spend money on your new proposals. Leave us alone we are all taxed enough!
