I've come to appriciate Patrick a little more, and I think he's a decent actor.

Painful to watch.

Only escapes a one star rating because of his greatest performance in RoadHouse- his only watchable movie. Dirty Dancing is vomit inducing. Ghost was crap.

Probably the most concieted and narcissistic ham to ever pollute hollywood.

While not all the movies Patrick Swayze has been were great, most of them were atleast OK. Dirty Dancing, Ghost & To Wong Fu, Thanks for everything, Julie Newmar were all good examples of this mans talent. He is obviously a very accomplished dancer, which you can plainly see in Dirty Dancing and One Last Dance. While his acting might have room for improvement (in my opinion, a slight room for improvement), many people agree that he brings knowledge, enthusiasm and imagination to all films he's involved in. Many of his co-workers have described him a driving force behind the scenes, who encourages them to push themselves to their best. How many other Actors/Actresses have had these kinds of remarks made about them? A few, yes, but not as many as you would think. It's clear he takes a personal interest in everything he works on, and it shows. I give this actor an overall rating of Great, as he has inspired others, contributed greatly in many ways to his films, on screen and behind the scenes, and his dedication to all he does.

What a dancer, great, great acting talent as well. Handsome man. Best role: Dirty Dancing....Where are you Patrick? We miss you. Loved your other work as well. Hey I got an idea for a script ... I see you back at the resort...hummm

Why isn't this actor being offered any good parts lately? He's energetic. postive and can deliver his lines like a pro...What, do you have to be under 30 now to get a decent role or something????

There's one thing that is for certain, and that is that Patrick Swayze's best days are behind him. He just cannot seem to find his niche' in Hollywood today. His performance in "Dirty Dancing" was a classic, as was his wonderful performance in "Ghost". The rest of his films, however, have been so-so acting on his part, and he's proven that some things DON'T get better with age.

he is terrible, oh all of those movies he is in are terrible

altough he peaked in the late 80's early 90's i still like this guys preformances. especially his television work in the mini series north and south. probably his most serious work outside of the"outsiders". always been kind of a poor man's kurt russell. still a very likable and capable actor. hope to see more of him in the future hasn't been very busy of late.

I can't watch anything he does and take it very seriously. I'm just guessing, but I bet he demands a mirror be within his reach at all times when he's filming a movie.

This guy may be able to dance, but he should get a refund on those acting lessons. He has the ability to create very one-dimensional characters, delivers his lines like someone in a junior high school pageant, and is almost, but not quite, as dull as Kevin Costner. I may have enjoyed a few of his films but it had nothing to do with him.

Oh come on people! Patrick should be number one! I mean this guy can ACT, he can DANCE, and OMG can he SING! I'll bet he could become a MODEL if he wanted! It doesn't matter how old he gets, he'll always be tops with me! My fave Patrick movie has to be "To Wong Foo" because it just shows how diverse he can be in his acting. LOVE YOU PATRICK!

I absolutely love patrick he was so good in Dirty Dancing and he is sooo hot. I have met him at an egyptian horse show where he was showing his horse which won first place (of course) and he was really nice. If I could marry him I would!!

This guy pretty much sucks: "Father Hood", "Dirty Dancing", "To Wong Fu". However, he was in one of the sweetest movies of all time in "Point Break". Even though when Bodie shot Pappas, I think my heart broke in two. Oh yeah, "Roadhouse" and "Ghost" are guilty pleasures.

I think that Patrick Swayze is the best actor! The movie Dirty Dancing is my favortie movie and he played an awesome role. I wish he were in some more recent films, but he is getting old..... Anyway again I think that Patrick Swayze is the best actor there is.

One star for that Dirty Dancing show is definately offset by a sure five stars for Red Dawn. What else has he even been in?

I was just thinking about the movie 'The Outsiders' 2 days ago for some random reason and was reflecting on how many big name actors received their first break from that movie. Patrick Swayze was the all-knowing tough but compassionate older brother Darryl. That kind of kicked off his career which is riddled with character portrayals oof that type. I guess that is why I get a little Swayze crazy whenever I see him in a movie. For some reason, he always gets me to root for his cgaracter, even if he is the bad guy. Favorite Swayze movie - 'Point Break'. 2nd favorite - 'Ghost', there is nothing like getting your eyes a little damp to a good viewing of this movie. Worst Swayze movie - 'To Wong Foo'. He is looking mighty wrinkly these days.
