Indeed Bush and his ilk want to destroy liberty and replace it with an oppresive theorocracy police state.

People are fine with Bush doing this? He has absolutely no right to force people into changing their religion. I don't think it's fair to just force people to change religion and just practically throw away everything that they believe. Different religions beleive different things and he wants to force people to change what they believe. I do not think that is fair. But I guess life is just not fair. And I think that's somethething everyone knows. But I dissaprove against anything he says. I don't think that he is fit to be president. Why is he one. Why does he still remain to be the president????? Maybe because majority of the people who voted for him are complete idiots!

to sfalconer: If you examine the writings of religious leaders, you will find most of the founding fathers, including Washington, John AND Samuel Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton, Madison, Franklin and Hancock labelled as heretics and followers of the Deist movement. Large amounts of the declaration, the bill of rights and other founding documents were cribbed from deist texts, while adams often spoke of his own atheism.

Honestly, I think that Bushy's Christianity stance is a phony act.

He does, on many levels, though it comes across as subconscious at times.

Its kind of funny since most if not all the founding fathers were christian. On our currency it says in God We Trust. The President has not made any attempts to force or influence any one to become christian.

QUOTE: 4. jennifer61 , on 5/31/2004 10:26:00 AM, said: We have a president who has Christian beliefs. If he wants to exercise his freedom of religion that should be fine. Isn't what our country is all about, our freedoms. ENDQUOTE Jennifer, his beliefs are not the problem. It's his attempts to ammend the constitution to reflect those beleifs that is the issue.

No. Our country was founded on the basis of freedom and tolerance and where as Christian views guide these ideals well, they are not mandantory.

His dream to do this is defined in some of his acts as a politician, like making Jesus Day a state holiday while Governor of Texas and his support of his own famous faith-based intiative.

This is a delusion, and a laughable one. What on earth has this man done to FORCE Christianity on anyone, anywhere, at any time? And he wants to force it on everyone in America, you say? Whoever would think that, must be feeling guilty about his/her own sins.

I think he is a believer but I don't think he's a crusader. He doesn't appear to be defined enough in his faith for that. At any rate, I don't think anyone has to worry about being forced into Christianity.
