dress code 1

I live in England and here almost every school has a uniform. Basically every private school has to wear ties and blazers for boys and often for girls aswell. I don't understand the point in this, these clothes are uncomfortable and uneccesary, people should be allowed to have at least a bit of choice in what they wear.

dress code 4

I doubt that there are very many truly restrictive dress codes in public school these days. Most of the kids in the school system I substitute in tend to wear a uniform of sorts, i.e., jeans and a sweat top in colder weather, or a tee-shirt or short-sleeved shirt in warmer weather. Once in a while someone comes in insomething sort of outrageous designed to get attention (baggy pants, outfits with lots of chains on them, or something similar), and once in a while a girls will come in with a skirt that barely meets the standards for length (or lack of it). Infrequently, a male student will come in with a shirt and tie, or a female will come in dressed to the nines in a dress or skirt/sweater and heels, but interestingly enough, their fellow students don't seem to look askance or tease them about being overdressed. Basically, kids dress informally and, by and large, sensibly.

I may agree with dress codes for dance schools, but I do NOT agree with it for regular schools. We ALL should have the freedom to wear whatever we want, whether it be a lot or nothing at all!
