While being the biggest is impressive, for me size alone does not make a prehistoric animal great. Nevertheless, Megalodon is a notable extinct species. Most experts agree that this shark was at least 40 feet long, and perhaps al long as 100 feet. This is around 2-3 times the size of the Great White.

A giant overgrown Jaws that died out some 5 million years ago. Imagine scary would it be if one was still alive.
