Dirt Devil Vision Series (Upright) 1

This vacuum cleaner is a piece of junk. Do not buy it. There is a reason why this company is known for manufacturing poor quality items. After owning it for 3 months, and doing only light vacuum work, we noticed this week that sparks were coming from the engine and it was letting off a burning odor. I tried returning it to Target (who says they regularly have problems with this machine) but Dirt Devil's warranty policy is that you have to ship it back to them (prepaid at your own expense) or srive it to a store, drop it off and then retun to pick it up when repaired (again at your own expense). Again, do not buy this piece of junk.

This vacuum is terrible. I scatters dirt particles on bare floors, the lock to hold it upright constantly fails allowing it to fall over on plants, furniture and small animals. And don't even ask about empting the dirt receptical. The filter has to be removed before you can empty it which throws everything that you just collected back into the air. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE!

The upright, bagless Dirt Devil is awful! I own one and am currently shopping for another. The suction and maneuverability is pretty good. HOWEVER, emptying the can is disgusting. Dirt goes everywhere and you CANNOT empty it in the house unless you want to vacuum all over again. The dirt/dust circles around and attaches itself to the filter that is in the center of the dirt can. To empty it, you have to pull that filter out along with all the dirt, put it in a garbage bag and tap the filter on the ground (through the bag) to get the dirt off the filter. The dirt and dust flies everywhere, coating your hand and arm and shoes. I don't know who, in their right mind came up with this concept. The other thing I noticed about this vacuum is that when you are using it on a bare floor, the motor blows all the dirt out the back of the vacuum and does not do a good job sucking it off the floor. It takes double the time to get it done with chasing where the dirt is flying and hitting it at the right angle. The only other bagless that I have seen that might be worth buying is the Dyson. I saw a demonstration where you don't have to touch the dust at all. You just pull a lever and it dumps out. However, you might still have to do it outside as when the dirt comes out, you wouldn't want the cloud of dust in your house.

I work in home care so i'm in A LOT of homes. To be very honest everyone who ever has had a dirt devil that i come across ( no matter the make of it) has always broke! Many have said it was the worst investment ever and the vacuums sit in the back of their closets while they use 30 year old vacuums that are more reliable than a dirt devil!! And yes i have had them all blow the dirt and dust right back out. Worthless vacuum.

We had a dirt devil vison for 8 months, it was the worst vacuum ever. The filter in the middle was always cloging and had a horrible smell. My husband had to vacuum for me because all it would do is blow the dirt back out in your face, up your nose and right to your lungs. I would be just ILL after vacuuming my chest would hurt and I had a hard time breathing. I GOT A RAINBOW:)

I just purchased the Dirt devil Vision vacuum cleaner today, and love it! I vacuumed the carpets before buying it, and still swpet up so much more dirt. I love the bagless feature. It's so easy just to remove the dirt cup, and empty it. So easy to snap back on. Would recommend this sweeper to anyone.

The Dirt Devil is an awful vacuum. It picks up dirt from the carpet and blows it right through it’s rubber seals and all over my feet.

We recently purchased the Dirt Devil Vision (bagless) and couldn't be happier. We vacuumed our Family room (after it had been vacuumed with our old cleaner) and it was unbelievable how much dust, dirt and pet hair the Vision got. We were amazed albeit disgusted. Our carpets look and FEEL cleaner. The Vision is relatively light and easy to transport up and down stairs. The canister (where the dirt goes, isntead of a bag) is easy to empty. I like the Hepa filter feature as well as the cord clip (at the handle so you don't have to hold up the cord). It comes with plenty of useful attachments as well as a handle on the hose (much easier to use). Since we have more hardwood than carpeted rooms, the ability to easily switch from carpet to hardwood is a wonderful feature. Not all cleaners are designed for hard wood cleaning, and the Vision does a great job. If you looking for a powerful, easy to use, ecomical vacuum cleaner, with plenty of extra features..take a look at the Dirt Devil Vision
