 | Jefffree (0) 09/13/2006 | I can'tbeleive I go sucked into a gimmick like this. I have 2 small cat's and a Boodabox and I've never had a problem with clumping but I was talked into this as it was supposed to last a long time before dumping. I put in 2 canisters...about 8 litres (8 lbs by weight). The theory is that because silica absorbs moisture it should absorb the cat urine...right? The first couple of days were good, I like how it desicated the poop, left hard dry little things...good stuff...by the 5th day (with daily cleaning and turning, it was starting to turn yellow within a couple more...brown...the blue crystals are still blue, so it's still good right? regardless of the puddles of liquid at the bottom that won't be absorbed. I took the lid off after day 5 so that air good get to it...at day 10...with the blue crystals still happily telling me the crystals are still good...I have to dump it tomorrow before the cat's stop using it...it's a cesspool. Stick with clumping or clay folks...heck...I'd rather use newspaper...
