I don't do this, partly because I've had worse bosses than the ones I have now. Also, while everybody at work seems friendly, I never know who might be listening if I complained about the boss. There's always someone at work who loves to carry tales, as my mother used to say.

No. Where I work now my supervisors are awesome. It's the first job I've ever had where I've liked basically everyone I've met there (a staff of ~400 people). The bosses are no exception. Some of them are in a bad mood sometimes, but most of the time they all rule. It's the type of job where every supervisor once started out at my level and so they hang out with us and joke around with us and stuff, and are always full of positive feedback and encouragement rather than negatively criticizing everything you do. This is the way all companies should operate. Where they motivate you in ways other than making you fear losing your job. I have had jobs where I hated the boss, but not my current occupation.

I'm the boss, and when people complain I usually hear about it (from the standard brown-nosers who think they get points by finking on the complainers, LOL). I try to let it go. Anyone in a position of authority gets complained about--you cannot please everyone, nor should you try, but you definitely need to be fair. If someone spends ALL their time complaining, then as tboneya says, they can complain in the unemployment line.

My boss is the absolute best. No way would I complain!
