Poirot 5

What an immense enjoyment to be able to watch so many of these portrayals. David Suchet is the best Poirot imaginable, he has all the mannerisms down to a key. It is not entirely faithful to the books, sometimes far from it, but all the changes make for a more interesting film. The subplots are hilarious, and I am so pleased that there are so many of them out there. Do not bother with the older versions, this is the best possible, and I loved every second of it. Even if you've memorized all the stories, you will still be suprised, if not by the murderer, then by a few other secret revealed.

Irish git: We get it. You don't like Christie. Fine, but could you stop sounding like a loud-mouthed complainer?

Poirot 5

The rating was too low for my liking. Couldn't be better made based the original works.

Poirot 4

If you like Agatha Christie's stories and don't mind finding out about an obscure clue at the very end that solves the crime, then you will enjoy the Poirot series. David Suchet is excellent as Poirot... he displays all of the fussy, prissy, egotistic mannerisms one would expect from Christie's Belgian Detective. Only Albert Finney (Murder on the Orient Express) comes close to Suchet's portrayal.

Poirot 4

I like David Suchet as Poirot. I'm impressed by the locations and historical detail that Granada Productions manages to work into the Poirot stories. I was surprised that in the episode that took place on Rhodes (when the Italians had taken over the island from Greece in the inter-war period), there was a shot of a couple of Italian Carabinieri (police) wearing the distinctive headgear that was worn by the Carbs only on Rhodes. Showed some really fine historical research. Captain Hastings usually comes across as clueless in the series (and Poirot as more than a bit arrogant and condescending).

Poirot 2

Irritating clap-trap, even worse than the novels they are based on.
