The UNIT is GREAT! My wife and I both love it and can't wait to watch. I even wake up in the middle of the night and see her enjoying the shows on DVD. It really is for both men and women. PLEASE don't take it away, TV watching got better when NCIS and Unit teamed up for a couple years, otherwise TV is really a terrible waste of natural resources. Jon-Mark

I LOVE love love this show.Kinda afraid to since whatever I like they get rid of.I didn't think I would like it when it first came out but it only took one episode and I am obsessed.I totally want Mack. My only issue is CAN I HAVE THE ORIGINAL OPENING SONG BACK??It is on my IPod-I love it.I miss it at the beginning of the show.Other than that-I don't know what I will do if they get rid of this show.

This is a terrific show with great acting and writing (not surprising since it's written by Mamet). I always take a deep breath before it starts because I know it's going to suck me right in and leave me breathless. (I enjoy NCIS right before, but that's just good entertainment rather than an out-of-body experience.) I thought I wouldn't like the wife side of it since I'm not a desperate housewives fan, but it has solid and compelling dramas of its own. And the characters are not simple-minded, one-sided caricatures. For example, I find myself both admiring and despising Tiffy. As for accuracy, I have no military background so I can't say. But Eric Haney's work was the basis for the show and he is a consultant on the show, so I would guess that it's at least somewhat realistic.

Love the show. Hope the exec. will keep it. Seems when I like a show they pull it off the air.
thedeerhunter 05/14/2007
Favorite show, I hope it stays behind NCIS, only thing better would be packing The unit with NCIS and Jericho all in one night
MrBlack 05/14/2007
Outstanding, best show seen in a decade!
Hannibal0101 05/14/2007
This is a show that makes us either believe in or want to believe in our military as professional doing what they are asked to do. Hope CBS brings it back right behind NCIS on Tuesday.
dabear01 05/10/2007
I would hate to think that it will not be back next year. Great show!!!

soso miltary drama that harkens back to the chuck norris "america kicks everyone elses ass" movies of the '80s. dennis haysbert was great in "24" but here he just seems...bland.... as for the rest of the cast, none really stands out enough for me to actually like, jason patrick is ok i guess, but ive seen him in better roles (x files, ect)
navymike 05/17/2006
I was hooked on the Unit from the very first episode.
sailormoon2 05/17/2006
Can't wait to see The Unit and NCIS on tuesday night. Both were excellent last night. Would like to see Chuck Norris do a Cameo on this Delta force... I was Navy so Love both these shows and they both show a positive side of the military.

My family and I watch The Unit every Tuesday and we tivo it. Please keep this show on the air!
LawyerISQueer 05/16/2006
Some of the 1's and 2's are idiotic comments such as Lawyers. Go pound sand. As much as I agree with the female storyline, is does allow us guys to be able to control of the remote since it does attract a female audience as well. Hope to see it next season.
jjmack21 05/11/2006
Great Show. It took a few episodes, but I stuck with and I'm hooked. I was a huge fan of The Shield (also Shawn Ryan) So I thought I'd give this show a try and I'm impressed.

I don't watch much tv but this is an awsome show!!! Let's just hope it doesn't go out the same way "The Agency" did. I love the army lingo even if i get my fill of it at home!

This is the greatest show for our country! Our family never misses an episode. Forget American Idol--teenage trash!!! The Unit teaches American Values, builds confidence in our country, honors our heroes, and entertains while inspiring! The best thing in years!!! Thank you, CBS.
ffsotus 05/02/2006
This is a great show. I dont watch that much TV because everything seems to suck and be the same old same old. I love this show and it is the only show I get excited about. I am tired of seeing how the left portrays our military. It is nice to have a show that is fun and makes you be proud to be an American with well trained people and special units who make us safe. I love seeing a show that the characters are tough, great at what they do and believe in what they are doing instead of the typical struggles about moral issues. I had my wife watch an episode and know she loves the show also. A lot of fun and keep up the good work.
Silentmace 04/19/2006
Being former military - this show brings back memories. The family aspect edge is good and honorable. There are some really tuff wives out there. Any-Who, the show is great and if you're looking for something more realistic and flawless...JOIN THE SERVICE!! You may learn a thing or two about the world today. Like I said the show is great...Nuff said
LitlDB 04/12/2006
Being a military wife, I LOVE this show!! It's got action for my hubby, and the drama of the military wives for me :-) Sure, it has some "over the top/unrealistic" things, but so do very successful shows like 24. It's entertainment. The bond that the women and families have is very realistic though. And for those wondering about the infidelity story, that is...unfortunately...extremely realistic in the military life. Sadly, it goes on all the time, between people you'd never expect. But that is part of the life...so I can definitely see why this was thrown in there. It's a good portrayal of what goes on and what people deal with.

I just love this show! I just wish that Tiffany would not cheat on her husband.
smlvlrlz 04/12/2006
I like all of the parts of the show where they concentrate on the actual D boys, but I cannot stand when they show the wives and their stories. I fast forward through those parts and highly suggest others do the same!
buzzairborne 04/11/2006
The Unit....Can't get enough of the show and since E-ring is never on it makes up for Spec-ops in Prime entertainment.
vextor 04/04/2006
I notice most of you complain about the writing and ask who the retard writing this crap is. You all say that who ever it is, they must not know a thing about being an operator. The author for the most part is SGM Eric Haney. Look him up.

Are you aware that your program shares its name with a novel by David Shadows entitled "The Unit"? Published by Publish America. Copyright 2004 by Donald Simmons. www.davidshadows.com

The men in the show seem interesting, but the women lack emotion and are a little Stepford-like. The first couple shows were creepy the way they responded to the new girl. Not sure if this is the choice of actresses or if the producers wanted to make you uneasy about this neighborhood of military wives. Rather than being supportive they seemed controlling and robotic.
mc2006sky 03/29/2006
Great show. Good balance between the action sequences for the Delta Force and the family drama going on back on the base.
liberty3 03/29/2006
Loved the show until last night - I must have missed the affair earlier. Totally unnecessary, and with a hunk like that for a husband, quite unbelievable. I just like watching brave guys do brave things every week.
fast_ryder 03/20/2006
This show is great. Being a former SF operator, this show allows me to reminisce about the past a bit. The dialogue is also pretty good.
rangrbob 03/20/2006
And to the person that relates people irritated by the cliches and inaccuracies in this show to Trekkies or whatever you called them. Thats like bad mouthing lawyers when they describe the inacuracies in "Jag". and finally for people that say they enjoy the show b/c they know people "in this line or work", those people are lieing to you. It is nothing like the real-life.
fuggin 03/17/2006
deltawife.. riiiiight.. what a fuggin joke
jonblake 03/16/2006
Love the show! I'm a guy with a nephew/godson in the 82nd. I DVR the show so I can watch it closely and rewind to catch all the details. Not crazy about the adultery thing but realize you need to sauce it up. Keep it going.
adfaf 03/14/2006
The series is superb and can even rival 24.
krtyler 03/13/2006
The show was ok. iThe cation was fun but it was VERY unrealistic in many ways. As a an Army wife whose husband has been and is deployed a lot, I have to admit that the most annoying thing about the show was the women who played the "wives" of these "soldiers". Their acting was totally unrealistic and not even close to the way we actually live. These women were too concerned about being involved in their husband's work. Spouses who are constantly going to the commander like this are not treated with any respect or tollerance like is shown here. Basically, these "wives" on the show are busy bodies who need to get a life.
briansoncrant 03/13/2006
This is a great TV show, but you did't have to mess it up with the Kernal sleeping with someone elses wife. I would of given it 5 stars if not for the adultery.
NavyVet87 03/13/2006
The last 3 minutes killed it for me. It was easy to suspend disbelief at the detail mistakes, but to have a CO shagging a subordinates wife -- enlisted subordinate at that -- killed it for me. I'll be changing the channel after NCIS from now on.
nonisense 03/12/2006
Loved the show - the writing, the assumption of intelligence and the eye candy doesn't hurt. Who is that hunk, Mack, and will we get to see more of him?
stretch69 03/12/2006
Ok show. The opening was good. The whole show should be enjoyed without looking too closely for mistakes. Like doing a HALO (High-Altitude-Low-Opening) jump without first sucking on an hour of pure oxygen.
turkish09 03/10/2006
Can't anyone just watch a show without wondering why this or why that? Who cares how they opened the door on the plane or what kind of plane it was? This is the type of nerd comments you expect from people who watch star trek over and over and wonder why the ships layout changed a little from show to show... its because it is made up! The Unit is not a documentary! If you are looking to spend an hour watching an exciting television show I would recommend the unit.
illumination 03/10/2006
what's the deal with that lady's reaction to being pregnant? it almost seemed like the doctor was joking when he told her the news. it seemed as though she was just like "oh cool, i'm pregnant...". yea, the whole flawless dialogue thing was what turned me off the most. reminded me of the gilmore girls (what i've seen of it). the action was pretty cool, but that wasn't enough for me, i guess it just comes from watching 24 religiously.
tewkewl 03/10/2006
As a military history buff and a avid spec ops book reader, I give this show a huge two thumbs up. They way the Delta operators are portrayed closely mirrors how men like Haney and Beckwith portray Delta in their own books! The matter-of-fact and "normal" way they conduct their dark art is a far cry from the gung-ho hollywood version we are used to seeing on film. The seen in the "retired" Delta man's house in Idaho was one of my favorite. They way the react and prepare when they see the news of the hijacking is exactly how Haney and Beckwith describe things in their memoirs. No bravado. Level headed. They way they just wear street clothes is also spot on. And finally, the way they take down the plane with flash-bangs and they way the plane is cleared - in slow motion -with the Delta man being able to differentiate friend or foe in a split second and then shooting hyper-accurately. It's all spot on. First and foremost, Delta (as well as SEAL DevGru) train to be the best shots in the military. It's also the number one skill one needs when taking down a building or a plane. This is no E-Ring with a hollywoodized portrayal of Spec - Ops a la Ben Brat and Dennis Hopper. This is the closest thing to the real thing I've ever seen on Screen. I am already an avid fan. The one thing I have to say though is that i agree with everyone's comments about the blonde having an affair with Robert Patrick... Didn't like that one bit. It also raises questions about Charlie Beckwith. Obviously, Robert Patrick is modeled after Charlie Beckwith (founding CO of Delta), the no nonsense attitude the crew cut.... But does anyone have an inside scoop? Did Beckwith fool around? Did Haney write that into the plot? or was it some lame Hollywood screen writer?
Joey_Flan 03/09/2006
Just a couple of responses to some of the critical remarks. First, a constant theme of all of David Mamet's work is betrayal. This theme explains why the CO shagging an operator's wife. Second, Mamet's dialogue has a certain meter to it and things are generally said three times. For some viewers, this was 'hamfisted' but for others, such as my self, it is the primary reason for watching the show. Finally, if one is looking for realism in a television show, one is going to be disappointed.

ACFT ON GROUND WAS A 727 AND THE SCHEMATICS THE COL. WAS LOOKING AT TO ASSAULT THE ACFT WAS THAT OF A 737.
spuddcw2000 03/09/2006
Not a bad show. How do you say it...when it sucked it sucked hard. When it didn't suck, it wasn't bad? Can't get over dude storming the plane without a shred of body armor and with a .22 cal sidearm. Riiiigggghhhttt!
DTaylor 03/09/2006
Has to be the WORST new series I have ever been led into. WOW! I am embarrassed for you network if this is the best you can do with all of the promo put into it. Good luck on the next one.
Pioneer12B 03/09/2006
Total BS! To many operational goofs. The bit about the commander sending a teammate on deployment so he can screw the wife is just beyond the pale! The guys who wrote this crap don't know squat about the real world.
