As a former Marine and a Patriot, I truly hope that Jerry B makes sure that Season 2 gets picked up. This is a timely show with great writing and a welcome change from all of the cop dramas. B. Bratt is the new Keifer!

Very entertaining. It great to show what would happen if our goverment really acted

I love E-Ring. It is the best show of the season. It saddens me that I have to quit watching it because of NBC's airing of The Book of Daniel. Any chance of moving to another network? Linda Hutzel Memphis, Tennessee

Truly a quality, realistic show. Un-like the trite NCIS show.
superdave247 11/03/2005
far and away the best written, best directed, and best actors on television this season.
kcbob79clone 10/13/2005
Good mix of action, political infighting, drama. Probably the best new show this year
solo04 10/13/2005
I love it, because it's action packed and the chessyness is good, because nowadays I feel that everything has to be so realistic, we forget that tv doesn't always have to make you think, but you can be entertained as well or you and do both. In this time in our world we need a good feel good show, there aren't a lot of them anymore.

Good show, I like the behind the scenes politics. However, the 12 Oct 05 episode had a technical error. An E-3 AWACS was depicted as Commando Solo, broadcasting a PSYOP message over the airwaves in Brundi. The Commando Solo is actually an EC-130 aircraft. Check it out: http://www.fas.org/irp/agency/aia/cyberspokesman/99 feb/atc1.pdf

It has been sometime since a new drama really get my looking forward to the next airing. I love this show and most of the cast. I really get into the drama and action.
mcgharo 10/06/2005
Great show. Entirely believable even realizing some fiction is thrown in for drama! A long time ago I knew one of the writers whose experiences this is based on. He could, would, and did do it! Ben Bratt: You are doing a great job portraying the character I'm referring to! This show makes me really proud to have been where I was at the time. Forget I won't!

There are some parts of E-Ring that I liked a lot. The first two shows were exciting and behavior was quite respectful. E- Ring to me some how represents the attitude of the U.S. government and all the current attitudes that the US military has. I am not the military type , far from it. In this last episode which took place in Iran suddenly it seemed ok for the main character to be violent with the young goat herder and then shoot a lot of Iranians whose country he invaded. Unfortunately because of a programing glich I didn't see why the American was in Iran in the first part of the program. Later in the show the young black woman spoke of her expiences of sexual and general harassment as if all that was ok with her and generally acceptable because what she did about it was not mentioned.(please excuse my forgetfullnes of names) This depiction of violence and unaddressed harassment, to me show a lack of imagination in dealing with a difficult situation. Surely men and women in the responsible situations that are depicted would have the imagination to deal with a difficult situation, as shown by the French character. I believe your show E-Ring can be a great show that depicts the US military as intelligent,( or is this and oxymoron)and respectful when dealing with it's problems. I see the lawyer in the show as the person who is trying to keep the leaders acting intelligently and respectfully, not just keeping everyone within international law. I love adventure shows but I cringe when I see people being treated with violence and disrespect and stop watching. What will keep me watching is lots of intelligent non violent action.

Enjoyed the show and most characters. Would probably change CIA bed partner to former partner/wife without the bed factor. That is a more believeable scenario.

I am enjoying the pace and unique stories that this show is putting on. Its fast - fun and maybe a little campy - but we need that for entertainment. Love Benjamin Bratt - great role! I hope this show stays on the air - it rocks~
jkornet 09/30/2005
Why can't Dennis Hopper pronounce NUCLEAR. He apparently is affected by the same malady as George W. Bush in continuing (now at least three times by my count) as he blurts out NUKE-U-LAR. I am surprised that someone as talented as Mr. Bruckheimer hasn't picked it up yet.
TexKan 09/29/2005
Great new show. From the comments below, I guess I am not familiar enough with the inner-workings of the Pentagon to be disgusted, like a number of others here. I was entertained.
elinden11 09/29/2005
Funny, no one has yet mentioned undercover CIA operatives doing field work in her t-shirt and panties (not that there's anything wrong with that!). The Marine Master Seargent would have had to enlisted when she was 6, to have made E-8 by her late 20's. The "red phone" calls into the Iraqi theatre whenever you feel like made me chuckle, as did the "get me a meeting with the JCS" orders at a moments' notice. Chessy enough to be fun to watch, I'm sure I'll be hooked in no time, especially since I'm ex-military.

This has to be one of worst most cheesiest TV shows out there. Just plain baddddddd. but it will get consumed by the dumb masses like a greasy cheeseburger and fries.
Tbrew1 09/28/2005
TV is TV...let it entertain! If you want the exact reality of the government, then read a book or attend political activities. I mean...superman was great and popular. How many guys do you see flying around the world? This show is accurate enough to be interesting. I mean it's about the plot, not about describing accurate protocol.
Amantacha 09/28/2005
you are not suppose to take these shows this seriously. if you really want to know what goes on behind closed doors, join up. also, if some ones girlfriend, wife, boyfriend, husband, friend, etc, didnt ever talk, we wouldnt know half of what we know now. sit back, enjoy the drama, and let yourself be a little immaginative.
SemperFi 09/27/2005
Who writes this garbage. Nobody who was ever more than a 2nd LT. Do any of the screenwriters have any military experience at all. Bratt would be a full colonel or retired and Dennis Hopper would have two stars or would be sitting in the Florida sunshine. The black Marine Gunnery Sergeant would have eaten Bratt for Breakfast. No major addresses the JTCS on their first (or any other) day. Blog TomBarnett.com who is a REAL pentagon brainiac. Yes, we probably have spies everywhere, and yes, China is not nice, but why the first show in China? Aren't we, umm, somewhere else right now? I hope the screenwriters read Micheal Yon and others before they write any more shows. Oh, by the way, a CIA girlfriend who talked would wind up in the typing pool of the CIA's pig latin translation department or sent "deep cover" into Sadr City.
cynic2005 09/23/2005
"We are America and we can do anything we want" as Dennis Hopper said in the first episode of "The E-Ring". China is depicted as the enemy, and the whole plot of the first show circled around whether or not to rescue a Chinese spy out of China. Implicitly, China is "The Enemy", even though China is benefitting from a free enterprise economic system that America proposes as the Way for all nations. Perhaps the US propaganda machine is preparing gullible US citizens and others that a war with China is inevitable. Benjemin Bratt is included as he was on "Law and Order", which gives the show credibility it does not deserve. This show is garbage American Propaganda, pure and simple. Goebbels would be proud.

Don't forget to add your two cents at E-Ring.tv! E-Ring is a wonderful show!
mjwyatt 09/23/2005
HORRIBLE!!!! The only thing shocking me more than this absurd show is the reviews giving it more than 2 stars. One has to wonder if these are NBC employees trying to keep their job. This show is like Dukes of Hazzard and Gomer Pyle put together, without the cool car, the humor or Daisy Duke. It is an abomination! What if aliens were stopping by our country and this is all they saw--this was their glimpse into human kind? The story lines are over simplistic. The show relies on only three main characters--none of them believable. You don't have to be in the military or the Pentagon to grasp how inaccurate all of this is. In fact, the only redeemable parts of the show are when it cut to commercials and when it was over. Other than these small flaws, boy is this thing a gem! My prediction: it will not make it through one entire season and whatever executive saw the pilot and turned it into a show is a double spy for a competing network.

So cheesy. I was embarrassed at some of the dialogue. When the new guy was asked to speak at the joint chiefs meeting...and proceeded to "take the podium"..I laughed and got chills of embarrassment.

A major as old as Benjamin Bratt wouldn't be on the fast track in the Pentagon - he'd be the assistant to the assistant G4 in the farthest reaches of the US Army. A colonel as old as Dennis Hopper wouldn't be around today either. Look at the General Officers briefing in Iraq or in the Katrina disaster area ... they've got a lot more bullets than Hopper's character and a whole lot LESS years. The disrespect that Bratt's character showed the Marine sergeant simply wouldn't occur in real life. No officer assigned to a senior staff position would have gotten that far in his career without the aid and mentoring of senior Noncommissioned Officer. The Marine appeared to be an E-8 /Master Sergeant. I've seen Master Sergeants and Sergeants Major lock the heels of Majors who acted like (a) Bratt. You can get away with a whole lot when you have that many stripes and say "sir" at the end of a butt chewing. I had been looking forward to this program as a military-centered West Wing or a more realistic/dramatic JAG. It is neither.
stepituppa2 09/22/2005
Overall I was intrigued and entertained. However, the show is failing in a number of areas. The writing is sometimes trite and cheesy. The military jargon is both overused and not injected appropriately. Bratt's character is entirely to stiff and stereotypically macho with none of the multifaceted sensibilities that a career Special Forces officer would have. The Joint Chiefs were completely uninteresting and toppled at the slightest cheesy speech. The storyline was compelling and all the special effects and editing were quite good. I hope this show gets a little better, otherwise it were surely be swallowed by "Lost".
CabbyZ 09/22/2005
Rather typical 'feel-good' propaganda but I still found it entertaining.
unklemark 09/22/2005
I was so disappointed in this show. As interesting as the premise is, and as likable as some of the characters seemed to be, the writing was awful. All I got out of that show is that none of the intelligence agencies know what they're doing. They were portrayed as Keystone Cops, and it was up to the "new guy" to save the day and set them straight. That little speech that Bratt gave in the Sit room was the icing on the cake - I found it appalling. After a steady diet of West Wing, this is pretty lousy pickings...
ccullingford 09/22/2005
Good show. Drama is in line with West Wing
Ottawa 09/22/2005
Good visuals.Needs military advisor for Pentagon-speak and protocol. Bratt's character is wooden, machismo stereotype. Dennis Hopper steals every scene, Recasting the lead or revamping Bratt's character could make this a hit.
jolly17 09/22/2005
The show is interesting but could use a little more technical advising in military jargon and protocol. It should last a while..
zounds 09/21/2005
High quality, intelligence-related story and production. Fine casting, good tempo and convincing, professional performances. Here's hoping the roles do not disinte-grate into stereotyped characters..and the stories do not become the usual hokum, jingoist tripe. A winner here! Motion picture quality so far!
JoeJim 09/21/2005
Ridiculous.

TeenyF 05/01/2005
Anything about national security has my interest as long as it's realistic.
laboo 03/14/2005
I think this sounds like an interesting concept.
aem917 02/28/2005
Sounds like it should be interesting!!! And I'm a HUGE fan of Sarah Clarke and her performance in 24, so between that and the show's premise so far, sounds like a good deal to me! Does anyone know if it's already on the air? Or when it will air? Because I don't want to miss any of it!! thanks!
DEVA 02/15/2005
Since I liked The Agency this sounds good the inner workings of the Pentagon. Sounds very interesting.
Dawnsdinos 02/06/2005
I'm really interesting in the Pentagon so right there they've got my attention. I also really like Benjamin Bratt who's going to be in it.
