Just an example of heckling. No worse than people yelling at an umpire. However he should not blame his performance on another person.

It's one thing to talk trash. It's quite another to talk trash and not be able to back up what you say. Then there's Freddie Mitchell, a NOBODY receiver who talked a lot of trash and couldn't back it up during the big game (his total was one reception for 11 yards and two dropped passes). But what makes this player an absolute jerk is his insistence that Terrell Owen's return not only led to his limited production, but cost the Philadelphia Eagles the Super Bowl. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Freddie Mitchell has done nothing to help his team, whether it was during the regular season or the playoffs (at least T.O. showed heart). Mitchell is a selfish, arrogant player who hasn't proven his worth to his otherwise talent-filled team. And he deserves his notoriety in Super Bowl lore. And yes, he is nothing but a big jerk! (By the way, even had the Eagles won, Freddie Mitchell would have been the least likely to win the MVP. Freddie Mitchell is that worthless as a player.)

I have to agree with Magellan he is not a superstar. He talks a ridiculous game and doesnt back it up. I'm from philly and i know a lot of people in the area are/were pissed at him for the thigns he was saying and not backing up.

Here's the danger for Freddie Mitchell - most of the folks on this list are able to get away with being jerks because they are superstars. Freddie Mitchell is not a superstar. He is the fourth receiver (fifth if you count the TE) on a very good, very mature football team. How long will it be before Andy Reid decides that he doesn't need the distraction from this journeyman player? I thought Mitchell's pre Super Bowl comments were irrelevant... but when you start implying that T.O.'s return and strong performance was a bad thing because it limited your own production, that's when they're might be a problem.
