Some do. . .some don't. . .we used to call difference of opinion 'democracy' and work with it. . .now we claim that this is a problem to be solved. . .

Myth? This is no myth. The current Democratic Party is religiously Pro-Abortion. Similar to the slavery debate that raged in the 1800's both have been exacerbated by horrible court decisions that usurped the authority of the people to solve the issue amongst themselves. In Dred the southern sympathizers on the court led by Justice Taney a southerner, declared the Missouri Compromise- that was dealing with the slavery issue through the legislative process- unconstitutional. In this egregious abomination the decision argued that blacks were only 3/5's human and therefore afforded no constitutional right to sue no matter what state they were in- and furthermore declared that all blacks essentially were property to which the slave owners were being deprived due process. In Roe, after years of states dealing with the issue of abortion in a legislative manner (this is a democracy everyone realizes right?), the court once again usurps the athority of the people by declaring the murder of the unborn a right born in the spirt of privacy. In denying a right to life of to the unborn the court declares the unborn only partially (sound familiar?) human (though an unborn has all the genetic characteristics of a full grown human and is no less a life that that of a new born, teenager, adult or senior who look nothing alike) and therefore can be deprived of life in the name of choice. Furthermore the court has declared in recent decisions like Stenberg v Carhart that abortion is a right up until the time of birth- legalizing throughout the country the right to infanticide on demand. The similarities between the Dred decision and Roe are striking in substance and practice. The court's usurpation of power to impose its concept of morality on the people is fully exhibited in both cases. The denial of rights to those who lack the political power to excercise theirs in favor of those holding power to enslave or murder other humans is proof that we still haven't learned a damn thing from history. Finally these cases are bench marks in the same philosophy. Slavery had lost the populist support and would soon have been denied throughout the union through the legislative process. Abortion as well was greatly limited in most states an both parties had prolife planks before Roe V Wade. Not until the Democratic party sold out to the Feminazi special interests and lost it's moral compass did it lock in it's permanent minority status. A majority of Americans find something deeply troubling with murder of the unborn and a majority does not agree with the Roe decision or subsequent rulings. So long as the Democratic Party is the party of death and butchery it will have an insurmountable task of over coming those who find moral issues tantamount when voting.

This is not a myth, unless you're talking about individual democrats, as opposed to the Democrat Party. Individual democrats are all over the board on this issue. But the Democrat Party and its spokepeople , having been co-opted by the extreme left wing organizations like NOW and NARAL, support abortion on demand, and they utilize the size and anger of their membership to advance the extremist agenda. Those democrats who dissent are not acknowledged by the party leaders. Why is that? Because extremist democrats grab the flag and charge up the hill screaming, FOLLOW ME!! and some follow. The moderate democrats are wondering where the flag went. The same phenomenon happens regarding the gay agenda. It happens on the republican side with certain gun control related stances, but it isn't as noticeable or as comical.

Not all democrats would agree with you on that. I, personally, couldn't have an abortion but I support a women's right to choose it for herself. One can be democrat without supporting every single little issue that the party looks at. Most democrats don't even support all of the issues that their party fights for; they just support the majority of the issues, so they claim to be democratic over being republican.

Pretty true. Only not all of us are for abortion but we support the idea. I'm not for abortion myself. It's a terrible thing to do when your 9 months into pregnancy, but what if a teenager accidently gets preagnent or something, that's when abortion is neccessary. If only red states could see that (especially considering teen pregnancy rates are higher in red states than in blue states BY FAR).

am i democrat who supports abortion, yes. But i know plenty of dems who dont because they choose not to define every single one of their political opinions by party lines. Also the problem i have with this is the on demand part, it makes it seem like we want it as a form of birth control which is a big myth that many pro-life propogandists like to spread

There are such things as pro-life Democrats but they're rather rare and it's quite a shame. Sadly, this isn't really a myth...
