I wasnt an Oklahoma State fan by any means, but when Barry was a freshman and Thurman Thomas was a senior, they made a great team to watch! Barry is a classy guy and went out on top of his game...

I was always on the edge of my seat every time Barry received a hand off. He had the most elastic legs of all time. Many defenders grabbed air and saw him running off into the endzone.

Easily the most fun player to watch in the last twenty years. I should add that I think defensive players are at a huge disadvantage in this category simply because they are not involved in the play nearly as often.

Hell of a lot of fun to watch. Quickest feet and best eyes for a tough back I ever saw.

Fun to watch. An all-around good guy. Like 'Sweetness', I never heard anything about his behavior on or off the field that would have made me ashamed to be one of his fans.

He could escape from anybody. The most elusive man to ever take a handoff.

Simply put, Barry Sanders was the best running back of all time. Not to mention, the most exciting back too. The Detroit Lions consistently put together bad teams throughout Barry's career. That didn't stop Barry from making the team at least respectible year after year. Not only that, but he put fans in the seat with his exciting explosiveness, agility and speed. After carrying his pathetic team on his back for years, Barry was tired of Detroit's non-commitment to win and simply retired from the game still in his prime.

The most fun and exciting player I have ever seen in person or on TV, hands down!Barry should be sitting back right now with over 20,000 yards rushing and near 200 touchdowns. The greatest player ever in my opinion.

Barry Sanders was the greatest running back ever to play. His speed and agility were and are unmatched. It is sad his career ended the way it did. He is the most electrifying player ever.

Barry would turn a 5 yard loss into a 62 yard gain. His runs were the most exciting and fun to watch. We will never see a runner so fluent and swift as Barry. He was a wonder on the field. My only regret(other than him not winning a Super Bowl Ring) is that he retired before my son got old enough to watch him.

A good running back I would wach any day.

His moves were astonishing - can you imagine what kind of records he would have set if he played on good teams? Or if he had continued to play, instead of retiring so young? We used to go watch him in college, when he played for Oklahoma State University, and he became a sports hero to us before the lowly Detroit Lions ever knew him.

His team was consistently horrible, offensive line consistently horrible, yet he always found the gaps in the defense.

I agree with Louiethe20th - Barry Sanders was so much fun to watch. His ability to stop and start, and change directions was almost inhuman. He routinely made some of the most athletic people on the planet look like plodding oafs. Guess he just got tired of playing football.
