You don't go to the "O" for cleanliness, but you do go for the dogs and fries. The hot dogs with their natural casings are really excellent. The fries can't be beat- fresh cut and delicious. This is right down the block from the University of Pittsburgh so it gets a lot of college kids, but its a Pittsburgh establishment! Just don't mind the dirty tables, but enjoy the food.

the O. if you come to pittsburgh, you HAVE to go here (after you've eaten at Vincent's of course). go to the Oakland location and have a couple of natural casing hot dogs with some of the strangest people you've ever been around--the O is in a urban college area, so take note of that. if dogs aren't your pleasure the place has everything from salad to burgers to wings to fries---the fries! one size despite what they offer. they take whatever is in the fryer bins and dump them in a fry tray. you typically need about 4 people to finish a medium, so be warned; the O doesn't cheat you on portions. if your a student reading this at or are coming to Pittsburgh for school; the O's pizza isn't the best, but it's huge and cheap ($4 last i checked) pretty bland but after a night of drinking it hits the spot. just remember, if you go after 11pm, i'd have a friend go to the bathroom with you.
