*Update* There will never be a right wing bias on this site, because the powers that be will always be there to squash any uprising by the Right wing. There are so many examples, but the one that affected me I like to call "Funny-Gate." When you have the majority if not all of the staff from San Francisco what do you expect? You get a site ran like the 9th Circuit. (OM)The right wing clan and myself have plenty of opposition from the lefties and moderates. I think this site would be pretty boring if there were not 2 or 3 sides to arguments or opinions. Afterall, this is the opinion network. If everyone was in accord what good would it do to rate their opinions?

RIA has a "right wing bias"?Gee....hadn't noticed. That damn domestic terrrorism must be taking over everything.
numbah16tdhaha 06/16/2009
Questions:1) Where is RIA located?2) If we have a right wing bias, why is Wise always so cranky?3) Why were reviews by Moosekarloff calling for conservatives to be killed if they don't step in line NOT removed?and finally...4) Does anyone really believe such a bias exists?
Wiseguy 06/16/2009
Obama can appoint an RIA czar to regulate this problem.

Check. I'm sure it was just a programming glitch.

Directive From Minister of Thought, RIA Central Committee.
Action - Immediate and urgent
As of this date all evidence of right wing bias shall be rooted out and dealt with by appropriate means. Those found to be indulging in such bias shall be sent to re-education collectivist mines for re-programming.

I haven't noticed one. Everyone seems pretty moderate so far.
daedalus 12/19/2005
This reminds me of the way people confuse a newspaper's editorial policy with its reporting. They are mutually exclusive. The site is all about various individual's opinions, so any bias belongs to those individuals alone. If the site was attempting to supply objective coverage of a topic then we would have a problem. There may indeed be more "right wing" opinion on RIA, but that is in no way an indication of any bias from the web site.

2ND UPDATE: Apology unnecessary, but accepted. I like this kid and we need more strong liberals like him. Sorry for throwing the kitchen sink at you, you being so new. Welcome to the fray! (Mind the trolls, though. ) UPDATE: Re: ProgrammerRingo's comment, did someone exclude liberal thinkers from participating? You want more "liberal" ideology? Less "conservative" ideology? Make a list. Do some work. Keep thinking. But, don't cry foul just because your side seems to be losing the battle of ideas (and with it sometimes, their collective composure). It's an open forum, with very few rules governing what lists you can make. Stop whining about all the articulate conservatives and try articulating YOUR side better. There is NO systemic "right wing bias" on RIA. Period. If you have somehow detected a valid example, state so. Otherwise, you shouldn't besmirch the open competition taking place. ORIGINAL COMMENT 2/16/05: In what way would someone change the bias? And to what? And how would such a change be implemented? It's an open forum, all opinions (so long as they are not profane or vulgar, except in the case of certain reviewers) are at least tolerated. Answer this question: why does it seem that the conservatives are more organized? Answer it by characterizing them accurately, unemotionally, without the sophomoric verbal backhand. Why do the conservatives all seem to get along, and not just with other conservatives? Try to figure out who doesn't fit in in an open forum like this, with very few rules of engagement, and why they don't. Are you sure it's right wing bias?
ProgrammerRing o 11/21/2005
I stand corrected. There is no right-wing bias. I failed to take into account the fact that users can create their own lists for other users to review. If a webmaster or someone else simply created lists for others to review, it'd be different.
GenghisTheHun 11/20/2005
For every action there usually builds a reaction. No censorship, please!
scarletfeather 11/20/2005
Well, you wouldn't get any argument from me on this improvement at all. And believe me, it would be an improvement!
jamestkirk 05/03/2005
I've noticed more conservative opinions over the last 12 to 18 months. Before that, most opinions were of a left-wing nature. Overall, this site still has more liberal raters than conservative.
kamylienne 05/03/2005
It's an opinion site. I don't see how RIA, as a company, could change any perceived bias, other than to 1) censor any particular view, or 2) invite a bunch of people from the other extreme to come to RIA to rate stuff, neither of which I've seen RIA do. No matter what side you're on, you'll be more likely to see some bias, one way or the other.
Skizero 02/16/2005
this sect of reviewers certainly seem to be in the majority on here, or at least they are the most vocal. the also seem to be organized in some way, acting like old pals and such, where a lot of other folks on here sort of come on to RIA and just review. i guess that's fine. people with a conservative viewpoint usually need a gang to help define themselves and to keep believing their opinions. Do I believe there's a bias? nope. i do all right on this site, so i can't imagine one exists. just a lot of noise.
abichara 02/16/2005
The site seems to be reflective of public opinion at large, and as such I don't see the need to change its bias. There are political reviewers here of all beliefs who leave excellent reviews. RIA would lose a lot if it began to discriminate on the basis of political views. There's a wide diversity of opinion here that ought to be resepcted.
Jar-Jar Binks 02/13/2005
Yes! Please do!
James76255 02/13/2005
This is actually one of the most balanced sites I've ever been to, which is why I like it so much.
Mr.Political 02/12/2005
I'm rating this a one simply because I don't feel that there is any right wing bias on RIA. Although many have made the charge about RIA posters, the case still stands that there are just as many liberals on here as conservatives.
