OR...treat them like zits - ignore them and they will eventually go away. Pick at them and they will probably start to look even nastier than if you had you just left them alone.

I disagree with censorship in any form. If you don't want to view these lists, then don't. Almost all of them are labeled in some way that indicates they are explicit. I wouldn't have a problem with RateItAll moving all such lists into a specific area, and possibly installing a way to verify age (really, do 10 year olds need to be giving opinions on sexual positions, or reading them?), but I cannot agree with the idea of eliminating them.

Please do not do this. The thing we absolutely dont need is censorship. We already have enough of that going on on this site anyway. I have been a victim of it. The fact that anyone can say what can and can go on this site is enough.

I don't want to see them eliminated, but I would like to see clearer indication of which sections contain inappropriate content. RIA is a site for all ages - which I think is cool and adds to its diversity. And there are certainly some sections that are not appropriate for children. I don't know, maybe a Rated R section of the site?

They're pretty much labeled something that would give away their content (like, if a list is entitled Sexual Positions or Sexual Fetishes, you're probably not going to find something rated G in there). I do see a line where some images may be offensive, and I certainly wouldn't want to see them on RIA's main lists, but for the most part I really don't care that they're there.

Everyone here is entitled to create a weblist that they like. What's wrong with explicit weblists anyway? It's your entitlement. It's your way of expressing yourself.

Aww. . .what's the matter? A few sexual comments make your Puritan sensibilites shudder? It's the internet, people. If it weren't for pornography or profanity 85% of the internet would be useless. Lighten up. And don't give me any sh#t about protecting the kids- they know more about sex than half of the RIA community.

Yes. Some of the lists present even contain graphic pictures, in addition to obscene language and touchy topic matter.

I personally do not like them and wish that they were not present, but I am just one person with one opinion. Apparently many do enjoy such lists and they appeal to the interests of them, so I guess they will remain. I can choose not to participate. I can comment negatively to their existence but that would not accomplish anything. If you want to create or enjoy the lists, then ok. We all make choices and have the freedom to do so. If RateItAll allows them, then so be it.

While this is an opinion oriented website I have noticed that those weblists which are sexually explicit are popular for a couple of days and then fade out. Political, religious, entertainment, and product lists seem to stay around at a slower but steady pace. If something related occurs in the news there is usually a spiked increase in comments on the subject. Also, sexually explicit weblists, in my view, are not the same as reviewing sexually oriented products such as birth control devices or enhancement drugs. People's experience with those products can be useful to the reader. Sexually explicit weblists may appeal to the mischievous side of the brain and provide a few cheap laughs for a few days but the fact that they fade so quickly is proof that the administrator is just being tolerant. In the bigger scheme of things, opinions about penis size, breast size, or masturbation isn't going to influence anyone's opinion except possibly make a reader feel inadequate.

I think a few of them are a little tasteless but heck, whatever floats your boat, I guess...
