I've never received one and I wasn't even aware that there was a warning system in place. I don't see why anyone should need to be warned more than once if they deserved a warning in the first place.

I haven't pissed off RIA enough (yet . . . at least not to my knowledge) to get a real warning, and though I've seen a few people complain about being censored, I usually come in at the tail end and don't see what the person wrote in the first place; the few times that I have seen the whole thing, it's mostly an issue of excessive personal attacks. What little I know about it, though, does seem reasonable.

I give Lawrence enough credit to think that when he receives a complaint he is able to judge its legitimacy. If a person feels they have been misjudged, he seems to be open enough to talk things out. He strikes me as being pretty tolerant and he has a lot of time and effort put into RIA and too often his efforts go without notice or appreciation. Some weblists and user names make the site seem juvenile and if you want to use rough or profane language there are literally thousands of websites where that is allowed. Keep RIA a cut above the others and it will speak well for all of us.

To my understanding, you are only given one chance to get your act together after getting one of these. I think two would be more appropriate because sometimes all it takes to get a warning is for you to offend just ONE person on here...
