Step right up and select your doctrine!!! TBN has something to tickle the ear of anyone who can sit slack jawed and blank minded long enough to watch 10 minutes or more of their programming. As I have said many times and will keep on saying until the cows start preaching (which I am sure will not-so-coincidently be the same day Paul Crouch will see the exploitive value in this phenomenon and offer to set them up with an hour on his network) this is the place where anything goes. I think they must spin a dial prior to each show to decide which insane, unbiblical ideas they will hawk on any given day. But nothing succeeds like success as they say and this candy-coated poison is apparently still pulling them in. Never mind if the doctrine du jour completely clashes with the one from the day before; this is show biz and whatever glitters, cries, whines, or winds itself up and spews righteous anger or drips mascara will sell - and whatever sells will always be the direction this gilded goose will be flying. I consider this network not just bad but a travesty.

I rarely watch Christian television, not because I'm opposed to it but because I'm already busy in Christian work and frankly I think most of the broadcasts are boring. However, I know shut-ins who are unable to go to church, and who look forward to watching these shows. It's a real blessing to them. (In case anyone wonders, I'm aware there are some wackos on these channels - but there are also some genuine Christians trying to do the right thing, even on the air waves).

I do not like every program on Christian television but I do find some that are very encouraging. The same can be said for secular television, in fact I find the majority of new programing a waste of airspace. I think Christian television serves a purpose and not every program is just out to get money.
