This is probably my Numero Uno way to relax and recharge my batteries. I wish I could say say I was a Chef, but no, I'm just a cook. By my standards, I'm pretty good, and since I'm always the one picked to BBQ or Bring the main dish to a pot luck or whatever, most people agree. I know my wife's favorite way to relax is for me to cook too. LOL... But really I can cook just about anything, as long as it's something I enjoy. There is something theraputic about cooking, and creating something out of nothing, and watching people's reactions. Also I have much more patience than my wife, and it's been easier for me to teach our kids than her, although she does the best she can. When my kids and I are cooking, we work like a team, so on top of relaxing, it's a great way to bond with my kids. My favorite cuisines are Mexican, Italian and Southern (with all it's great variations). In addition to cooking, I collect cook books.

I never thought of this as a relaxing activity, since I'm seriously impaired as far as cooking is concerned. For those who are gifted in culinary arts, though, I can see where this could be good.
