 | harlock (19) 10/06/2008 | Well, in Spain absinthe is legal, and I don't know why it should not be legalized. It's no better and no worse than any other alcohol drink (with the same quantity of alcohol, of course). If you drink a lot, you get drunk and it have some effects, and if you drink a little, nothing happens. Exactly like if you drink gin, whisky...

 | oscargamblesfro (81) 09/22/2008 | Warning 1- Old RIA in joke-... Warning 2. Excessive but merited cruelty to follow:
This must be Amethystine's sister, the rebellious sister who wouldn't look in the Book of Samuel to see if it was okay to buy maxi pads...

 | FranksWildYears (58) 09/22/2008 | Absinthe makes the fart go Honda. Fabled to be halucinagenic, its a nasty high test liquor no matter what you say. Illegal, I don't know, but it should carry a large and strongly worded warning label at least. My lone experience with it was witness a ritualistic slaughter of two of my friends who share a birthday with me. I mysteriously survived, but a few days later discovered a full shot glass of the stuff sitting on top of a fence post back by the woodpile in my back yard. Apparently I wimped out unknowingly when I went to get a few logs for the fire. Why were drinking that stuff while sitting by a fire is a question that should be asked.

 | irishgit (151) 05/07/2008 | Real absinthe is no more harmful than real gin or real bourbon. Badly made "bathtub absinthe" can be dangerous, but so can any alcohol made without quality control.
The myths about absinthe are exactly that. Myths.

 | GenghisTheHun (177) 06/06/2007 | Here is another goofy knee jerk reaction. The banning of absinthe came from junk science, hysteria and political pressure from the wine industry, in France, at least. Other countries had other reasons, and some countries never banned it at all.
Absinthe is no better and no worse than any other spirit, and the old ban should be lifted.
You can purchase Pernod in the USA that has a taste very similar to absinthe.

 | Hedonist (1) 08/23/2005 | People, educate yourselves. Real absinthe does not taste like crap. It is also not psychoactive, any more than it's alcohol content is that is... It is however expensive, but worth it if you like fine drink.
This is where I get mine, and also a site for some great history and information, to dispel the misinformation out there...

 | Wid71 (9) 05/19/2005 | I've never had it, but I've read a lot about it. It should be legal. Many things that are legal can be poisionous/dangerous if you drink too much of it. Nyquil comes to mind.

 | dpostoskie (7) 04/26/2005 | It's highly poisonous and helped contribute to Van Goghs serious health problems. But, we can still buy cancer sticks, hell, bring it back.

 | X Factor Z (15) 04/19/2005 | what happened was Absinthe was made illegal because it was made with Wormwood, but i always thought that was a bogus reason.
