Laughable scripts and side splittingly bad acting.

Lucy Lawless is interesting to look at, if you like thoroughly butchy women.

If you ignore some of the lackluster acting from some of the American actors and just focus on Lucy Lawless, this show is extremely watchable. It was undeniably shabby in the first season overall in terms of acting and plots, but the quality gets WAY better thereafter. Xena is a character like no other female heroine before her, make no mistake. She is simply the best. And she can actually look like she can beat you up.

Chessy, but a lot of fun to watch.
