The end of SG1 was predictable for a couple of seasons back. But the story and the concept never faded in the interest of the fans, so they came up with Atlantis. It takes some time to get off the SG1 high and get used to Atlantis, but so far, the series is doing pretty good. There is still plenty of material to explore and develop. I believe Atlantis is here to stay. How long? Who knows. But I hear rumors that there is some works being done in a new generation of SG1. We shall see.

This isn't as good as the original, both in characters and in storyline, but its writing and production are still well done.

This show is growing on me. Gotta get past the whole Stargate SG-1 established storyline though. There are some rough edges, but that always happens with new shows.

I agree...I had found myself excited about each new Stargate SG-1 episode, but Atlantis doesn't generate any spark.
