they sure have been married a long time. I always thought they made a cute couple with a darling son. I heard about a year or two ago they separated. Did they get back together? I can only say I wish the best for them.  UPDATE: I am reading Valerie's new book. and it seems their marriage had not been all that good for a while. they were awful young and had their issues.they were pretty young especially her when they got married. and in show business it makes marriage even harder.

She got married too young, so typical of entertainment people, why do thse people think it's OK to marry so young.

my god, it is funny how through the years valerie bertinelli slowly began to look like eddie. they were too much like brother and sister. and 20 years isn't a long time. like, hello, there are people who have marriages of 35, 40, 50 and 60 years. 20 years is nothing.

Valerie brought the class into their marriage, Eddie brought.....the other stuff.

They seemed to work for a long time - but, of course looks can be deceiving little buggers. Speaking of looks, is it me or did they actually look enough alike to be brother and sister (and, no, I'm not implying anything about their offspring)?

i really had hope for these two . the rocker and the girl next door seemed just made for each other. though they might be back together the last i heard anything they were on the outs

i don't think valerie and eddie are a good match she never dealt with a alcholic growing up . i did and i feel i would have been a great match i did some modeling and and my figure is 38 24 36 and could of married many different man even famous ones which by the way one proposed to me which i will leave anoyomous. i am dealing with a older brother who is a alcoholic and a cousin also was a alcholic and died of it. my older brother is still alive and been in many rebabs just like eddie and just can't kick it so somebody that deals with it eveyday knows better even though they say valerie did all her best but it is just not the same.

I keep reading that Eddie's drinking drove them apart. Perhaps that's true, but it seems at least equally clear from their interview comments over the years that this couple shared an obviously genuine and sincere bond of love for one another.

A great couple that stayed together since 1980, against all the odds that celebrity couples must endure. Never controversial, never the publicity hounds. Other celebrity couples should follow their example.
