Irezumi Body Art 5

My wife and I were on vacation up there in Kansas City, we called a couple of tattoo shops there in town but it seemed everybody was rude as hell to us over the phone except for the crew at Irezumi they were very professional and did not hesitate to give us directions to there shop even when my wife called a couple more times cause we forgot. My wife went there to get a coverup job done and they had no problem doing it, she ended up getting a four leaf clover to cover up a home made tattoo I belive it was done by Alli. They were so good I decided to get one also, I wound up getting the smile now, cry later faces tattooed on my right calf done by a guy name Jesse (I think), since they were so curtious, polite and great at what they do, they have become our tattoo shop. Any time that were in town we will visit them. Matter of fact I will be in town for a Chiefs game so we will stop by and get some more work done. THANKS IREZUMI

Irezumi Body Art 2

I came to Irezumi Body Art to get a tattoo; I had the entire image I wanted on a memory card for the artist. The girl behind the counter decided she would rather find her own version of my tattoo online as a starting point instead of using the exact image I wanted. While doing her own research she was mocking my and belittling my choice of art. Upon forcing the exact image in front of her face for the second time she drafted the piece. After a back and forth the artist the outline was finished. While I was filling out my release forms a few other people came into the shop and she decided instead of assisting them with brainstorming their tattoo. She would simply direct them to her website. Her website would be referenced about 8 more times during my visit. It would seem instead of having actual customers she would rather have more hits on her page. After the lines where pulled from the piece we where setting up the tattoo and she would not let me place the piece how and where I wanted. Telling me that my choice was wrong and not what you should do. It is my choice, I am a customer. Helpful suggestion is one thing, being rude and telling me I am wrong is not the correct way to handle the situation. Trying to avoid further conflict we compromised on a middle ground of the angle and position. When I asked for specific details on the tattoo such as shadows, glow effects or a colored outline I was told once more that I was wrong and she would not do this. The area was cleaned in front of me and I laid down to start the process everything was moving forward fine until she stopped half way through the outline and removed the needle and said it was crappy. I was shocked that she could not have found this out sooner, like before she started the actual tattoo! I was getting a new tattoo, I was nervous; I tried to chat with the female artist during the process. Any attempts I made to have small talk were met with short and rude replies making it feel like speaking with me was a bother for her. As a tattoo artist I would expect some level of common courtesy and an ability to make me feel comfortable and enjoy the actual process, not like I was a bother. After the tattoo was finished I asked if she would like me to email her pictures of the healed work for her website, she said sure. However she would not post the pictures on the website as it was not her own piece of art. This was very rude and inconsiderate to take something that I see as art on my body and look me in the face and say it is not. While I was waiting for my ride to return to get my I mentioned they where getting pierced at another shop who they where friends with they decided to take that time to ridicule and mock the other studio. This is extremely childish and immature of a place that should be focused on professionalism at all times. I paid for my tattoo and left the shop. I will not return to her nor can I suggest anyone who is extremely trendy and fake to visit this location. I love my tattoo, but the experience was horrid.
