Poor reception, the lcd display stopped working a few months later and now the battery life is very short. I don't recommend this phone at all.

Have owned three phones in this series. Battery life sucks and caller-id windows unclear. Will never purchase another one.

From what I have experienced with Sony cordless phones is, the battery life is short, the overall quality and feel of the phone is cheap.

I've had a Sony SPP-D900 for about four years now, and I've been pretty happy with it. It's a digital 900 mhz phone, which makes for good sound quality and range. But a couple years ago I accidentally stepped on it, and all of a sudden it started going silent every now and then, just for a second. Yes, I know phones aren't designed to be stepped on. But I wish the thing was just a little bit more durable. Still, all things considered the SPP Series is solid.

I bought the Sony SPP-Q105 about four or five years ago and it has served me well. During that time, I've lived in a few different apartment complexes and the reception has been just fine at each place (with 25 channels, it's been fairly easy to get a clear one). I've also used the same battery since I bought the phone and the charge still stays strong (but, not as strong as it used to). My one complaint with the phone is that, sometimes (less than 1% of the time), it can't find a clear channel to speak on. When that happens, instead of going to a channel with static, it won't give you a dial tone or won't let you pick up which makes it tough when you are answering an incoming call. All in all, I have been satisfied with the phone, but unless Sony has fixed this problem, I will probably check elsewhere when buying another one.

I spent an entire week shopping for a cordless phone, and I tried seven phones before I settled on the Sony SPP-900. I have not been disappointed. The phone has great reception and is relatively light. The beep that you hear when you turn on the phone is not ear-piercing (as it is in almost all of the other models I tried), and the volume can be turned down to a comfortable level. A friend of mine said that she had a similar experience shopping for cordless phones, and she ultimately selected the Sony model, too. I highly recommend the Sony SPP-900.
