He is a great singer. One of the best. A few years ago, a Brit mag (Q- I think) rated the top vocalists of all time. He came in 3rd after lennon (2) and Aretha (1). Macca can sing any style- ballad or rock. Hey PSILU, wake up.

I find his music a bit hit and miss but I do like his voice.

Include him in the group as a bassist and songwriter/co-writer but not as a vocalist. I love Paul and his material and style but there are far, far better British vocalists.

Paul is the ULTIMATE bass-player for many reasons. First and foremost is his conception, writing, and playing many of the most-influential Rock bass-lines of all-time. His playing is nothing short of superb and "perfect for the moment" in every Beatle song ever released. His playing was also extremely innovative and technically challenging when it needed to be. He is probably most responsible for making the bass an instrument that every one suddenly wanted to play, rather than run away from. His body of work also proves that bass-players do not always have to play "chops," unless it's called for (e.g. "Hey Bulldog"). If you are looking for perfection in a bass-player, you'll find it in Paul McCartney.

Talk about your ignorance.....Paul McCartney (along with John Lennon) wrote the songs that the greatest ever band performed. They were innovators. He is considered by many to be the greatest songwriter in rock history. Anything less than five is an unawareness of your rock history.

The obvious choice for the UK Supergroup bass player - of course, anyone in The Beatles could have been in a Supergroup.
