It is still and exciting moment to see Dave Grohl back on the Drums! He has played drums (since Nirvana) with Bowie, NIN, Queens of the stonage ..he is a great drummer and his confidence and ability as a live performer have imporoved immensly.  He could have easily bombed with anything that came after Nirvana. But he has become a great performer in his own right. 

 On my list he is behind the drums :-)  

he's great because he's versatile and has been in too hugely successful groups so he's very knowledgable on what his audience wants to hear.

A shoe in. Best American drummer that I know of. He could also play some sick guitar if needed.

excellent drummer hard beat no too overcharged and very melodic ... a trully musician ... plus his live intro for Scentless Apprentice ... is the best I've ever heard and the solo in Oakland 1993 before the countdown ... Def. a good choice if the other members are Stevie Wonder and Carlos Santana. LOL!
