Kudos to mrf. In 1993, the New York Times called Prince "the modern-day Mozart". Perhaps that is a stretch, but the man is pure genius. He is definitely the most underrated guitar player of the rock era.

  An amazing artist and front man in his own right. But on my list for his guitar playing and musicianship/songwriting. 

He is an amazing guitarist! Go and watch some live clips! Can play the funky riffs or rock out ala Hendrix. Could he stand not being centre of attention?...i dunno lol But would bring a great quality to a super group!

totally original and incorporates so many styles in2 one sound! Writes every note, every lyric, and usually plays all instruments on his albums?? unheard of..

I have to give credit to someone who can write,produce and perform entire albums on their own.Prince,at his best, was incredible-but he is seldom at his best-often writing what sounds like mental masturbation.
