His start in music, however, came as a child singing in his church choir. His first rock group was the Selfs; he played with that group from 1965 to 1966, before forming the band the Syn. Probably one the most innovative bassists ever. Right from the beginnings of Yes. Listen to their 1st and second albums (68/69) He was playing ahead of his time then and he has only gotten better and more amazing with time

Chris is a sound all of his own, or shall I say a sound he invented that makes YES YES. All of his outings are great rock and roll. Check out his duo albums with one time member Billy Sherwood: Conspiracy. Yesworld web site has a live concert on it right now(Aug 2005) He is the only member of Yes not to leave. Alan White was not there in the beginning but has been there for 30 years. Squire 36 years. Chris Squire is also a great singer. A true rock and roller.

I think Chris is the best. Give a listen to more of the groups work aside from the commercial hits. What diversity!
