The man is a living legend, ask many currently in-nogue members of successful bands such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, etc. and they all cite Mr Squire (and Yes for that matter) up there with the true greats. In my humble opinion he is the most melodic, intricate and thoughful of the Bass Gods. Knows when to sit back and when to power at full throttle. Long live "The Fish" !

Probably one the most innovative bassists ever. Right from the beginnings of Yes. Listen to their 1st and second albums (68/69) He was playing ahead of his time then and he has only gotten better and more amazing with time

Chris is a sound all of his own, or shall I say a sound he invented that makes YES YES. All of his outings are great rock and roll. Check out his duo albums with one time member Billy Sherwood: Conspiracy. Yesworld web site has a live concert on it right now(Aug 2005) He is the only member of Yes not to leave. Alan White was not there in the beginning but has been there for 30 years. Squire 36 years. Chris Squire is also a great singer. A true rock and roller.

I think Chris is the best. Give a listen to more of the groups work aside from the commercial hits. What diversity!
