Breckenridge has nothing exciting to offer as a mountain. There are too many cat tracks, and it is difficult to travel around the entire mountain. Aside from that it is flat and for beginners

That magical old mining town appeal Breckenridge had 30 years ago is gone, but the mountain is still there. An excellent choice after the holiday crouds have cleared, especially for young skiers.

Growth in the area and long lift lines make me less enthusiastic than I was 10 years ago.

Breckenridge is especially great for families. This is where I learned to ski at 7, and have been going back all my life. It has a great town where the non-skiers in the family can shop, eat and amuse themselves while the skiers/boarders do their thing. The slopes do tend to get pretty crowded - especially during the holidays. That's the only drawback.
