Connie Francis from early in her career was called the Queen of Rock 'n Roll. She was able to not only fit in with the guys, she was their equal. In the producing of her recordings. She was the best American Export (at the time it was Coke a cola) of our music. She then took her music to new heights by recording in over 15 languages. Check out her albums, she did rr, country, r&b, big band, standards, etc. She was as is the prototype of the American girl rocker (up to and including Madonna). We are putting people in the RR Hall of Fame with little to no right to be there. They do not have a tremendous amounts of hits, or years in the business. The RR Hall of Fame should be renamed RR Hall of Shame. There are many other artists who rightfully belong there. Let's start making the corrections now: Beginning with Connie Francis. Great voice, range, stage presents (who can stand center stage with just themself/band, no many but she can). So let's go, let's go, let's really go, put in the RR Hall of Fame, the first Queen of Rock 'n Roll, Miss Connie Francis. Thanks for reading this!

Connie Francis is more qualified for the R&RHOF than any female performer already inducted. She has more No. 1 hits (3), more top 40 (35) and more hot 100 (56) hits than any female inductee. She was the the first rock star recorded in 9 different languages. She's had over 60 albums and 3 sound tracks. She entertained the troops in Vietnam. They're all great but how could LaVerne Baker, Ruth Brown, Etta James, Joni Mitchell, Dusty Springfield or Bonnie Raitt be more qualified than Connie Francis. Brenda Lee comes a distant second to Ms. Francis qualifications. Shame on the Hall of Fame.

from the 1990s: Better idea, Induct TUESDAY WELD now! True, like Millie Vanilli, it wasn't her voice on all those early rock & roll movies, and, like The Monkees, she was hired more for how she looked than musical talents (with the exception of Mike the others had to learn how to play), but didn't she look a heck of a lot better than any of them! As long as musical inspiration and true influencial contributions towards the music don't seem to count much in this pro-Monkees argument, I say Tuesday Weld should not only be inducted but declared Queen Goddess Of Rock & Roll. Of course, Connie Francis can do the real voice at her induction speech.

Connie Francis is a legend. Her rock and roll contributions rocked the world. Her voice, her stage presence and personal demeanor brought joy to all that appreciated her music and loved her as a person as I do now and have done so for the past 50+ years. She deserves and has EVERY RIGHT to be a part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame contributors. Please do the right thing by her. Thank you.
dennyd 09/27/2006
YES!!! Connie was RR's first female superstar. She is fully deserving and long overdue.

Typical of a male oriented industry to ignore this pioneering female singer. Hall of Fame: JUST DO IT!

Rockin' Connie Francis was the most successful female solo artist for the first decade of the rock era. Her influence on everyone from Debby Boone to Marie Osmond to Debbie Gibson cannot be denied.
Hot Wax 02/12/2006
Connie Francis's versions of her "soft rock and roll" songs in the late 50's and early 60's contributed to the acceptance of rock and roll music by the masses in Mainstream White America and many countries throughout World. In the mid 50's Rock and roll was associated with "teen-age delinquentcy" and all that was "bad" for innocent kids of whose upbringings where dictated to by parents with post World War II hypocritical ideals of the "American Way". Connie Francis smooth a path from the un-acceptable hard-core Rock and Roll beginings to a more acceptable soft rock form of the music by the masses. Others of that same time who contribute to the success of Rock and Roll and pioneered that soft Rock and Roll path were Ricky Nelson and Bobby Darin and they already have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their contributions as well as their talent, now it's Connie Francis turn to be recognized for the same accomplishments as her two male conterparts and should be inducted on those laurels she amassed also. It's past her time for evaluation, she past all exams that are needed to be inducted, actually Connie Francis should have been into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already. Induct Connie Francis in the next round...it's the only right thing to do for all concerned. Thank you. Hot Wax

Connie Francis rocked in the fifties (American Bandstand) and is still rockin' today. The woman deserves to be recognized for her contributions to the Rock & Roll era. She paved the way for future female rockers.

What is wrong with the RRHOF? Name one female who had a top ten R&R hit before Connie Francis? Get with the program and give the gal her due!!
Rebelscotland 01/04/2006
Couldn't agree more Don't know much about this Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since I live in New Zealand But the guys that run it must be a bunc of morons
jondon 01/04/2006
Anyone who thinks Connie Francis does not deserve to be in the RRHOF knows NOTHING about Rock n Roll!! Read up on your R&R history! There are plenty of sites dedicated to Connie Francis. Check out my "Rock N Roll Hall Of SHAME!" at http://www.12mb.com/connie

Connie Francis was the first female singing artist to break the barrier of the male dominated genre of R&R and should defiitely be in the hall of fame.
brenkim 03/28/2005
I can think of no other singer that is more deserving of this.
Chayken 03/26/2005
Connie Francis was the first female to break the all male dominated top 10 rock and roll list. She was the best selling female recording artist from the late 50s to early 60s.
MR-MUSIC 03/05/2005
Clearly the most outrageous oversight of all. Shame on those who make the selections.
CastleBee 11/17/2004
First of all souljunkie, Connie Francis is more like late 50's early 60's - there's nothing '70's about her. And even though she wasn't exposing or almost exposing her private parts when she performed she still managed to climb the charts with several hits and was a viable part of the music world during her heyday. That era may seem like 3,000 years ago to you but it existed just the same. Connie Francis had (has) a very strong voice and a unique sound that very much reflected certain tastes of the time.
gowdy43 11/16/2004
Long overdue
souljunkie 11/16/2004
Not just no but Hll no! C'mon garjen55! Where are you coming from. You should have referred to this as the 70's whimpy hall of fame.
