In many Eastern European countries Christmas is Santa free. Yet, people still forget about the real meaning of Christmas... the problem not in a some silly fictional character, but in one's attitude toward religious holidays!

To inject a slight historical note: "Xmas" is not a modernized contraction of "Christmas" It is a more ancient, early Christian version of the day.

Exactly. I am a 14 year old Catholic and believe that Christ has been removed from christmas, replaced by an X therefore making it X-mas. Merry Christmas every one, happy birthday Jesus!

No kidding. Kids are more disturbed to find out Santa is not real than they are about the fact that their Savior was murdered.

I don't think Santa makes Christian children forget about Christ. People choose to let Santa do that.
