 | lmorovan (15) 05/12/2008 | The apathy of the Americans is an increasing malady that doesn't seem to have a remedy. Ordinary citizens are so disappointed by the political games and corruption that they do not want to be part of it. Eventually, a political disaster will wake us up and then we will do something about it. I just hope it won't be too late.

 | SuKingsANDKnights300 (14) 02/04/2008 | Homer is gonna be bad in politics. This is going cause more cry on the left. To be honest, we are going to mkae ourselves, like young children, and think childishly in politics. Real dirty politics unleashed. Homer will use direct counter-thinking attacks to influence the field. That means, Homer is making it clear politics, and antagonism, antism, sabotages, camouflage, and use cold water to splill it at the bottom of each every politicians to fall. I love my job!!

 | Mr.Political (18) 11/06/2004 | Being patriotic is certainly more than waving a flag around: it means to look out for the best intrests of your country so that it can be a pleasant place for everyone to live. Of course, everybody has a different definition of what the best intrest for the country is and that's why we have political parties. So, if you can do this in a legal fashion, then perhaps taking an intrest in politics and going through the system is certainly most effective in making your country reach as high as it can.

 | abichara (62) 09/01/2004 | Effecting positive change can only occur through citizen involvement. It all comes down to self-interest, especially on the part of politicians. Many claim that not being involved in the system is the biggest protest vote of them all, that simply abstaining will demonstrate severe disaffection. That is not necessarily the case, democratic systems with highly engaged electorates tend to have a more efficient and effective public sector. Politicians won't listen to your concerns if you don't vote and get involved, it's that simple. An element of collective action is involved. Most importantly, an unengaged citizenry will ultimately mean that the special interests (big business, unions) will get their way over the needs of the average person. This does not bode well for the maintainence of a pluralistic society. Don't complain when this happens.
