Every so often there is an album that comes out and destroys all around it. This is that album. Beautiful and heavy, a loving stroke and a puch in the face.

At a first glance SOAD appear to be another of the diabolical nu-metal dicks out there, on closer inspection it transpires; they are not. They have the same tona qualities of a band like, say KoRn or papa roach except its quality. the riffs ar of an arabian metal type- something quite bizzare, phenonminal drumming with pricison and creativity and the vocals are full of innovation and originality ranging from elegent flowing beauty, to stomping raging shouts- and nobody shouts like system: an angry political shout. oh yeah and the bass is cool. this is a stunning album, songs like chop suey! and toxicity hint at just how great this band are, whilst deer dance and science prove thier politics still in tact and as powerful as ever. system are a great thing, lets hope they keep making music as fresh and wonderful as this.

This album is really good. They've advanced so much in their music that it's amazing. I just don't understand why others who liked their last album better than this one are so judgemental.

If only I could give it more stars! It's absolutely unbelievable. A cornerstone to my youth (which of course is still on-going, but you get my point). Their lives shows kick quite a lot of ass, too.

Ok once agen Dorian you amaze me ywt again. There is no rap here. Limp Bizkit is rap. Vanilla Ice is rap. Acknowledge that you have no clue wat the hell you are talking about. System of a down is an amazing band. Toxicity their song is amazing. Dorian your an embarassment to music. You have no clue about any type of music. That people like. These people are so amazing and they express themselves. They speak their mind. Obviously you do not know this beacuse your too blind to see because your too busy listening to your CLASSICAL ROCK. Get a life this is the new thing that people like to listen to and is quite frankly amazing.

if you have a problem with this cd you are probably just an ignorant 7 year old child.

.5 out of 5 Stars: Horrible-- "Toxicity" (2001) is System of A Down's latest "album" of derivative, monotonous, unstructured and unentertaining screaming sessions and simple, uninspired guitar "riffs". System of A Down is merely, yet another nu-metal band in the same vein as Disturbed, Korn, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, etc. If you are a fan of the aforementioned, by all means, buy this album. As for people such as I who aren't selfless and mindless, and enjoy quality music, stay away from this album as you would with a Vanilla Ice/Larry Miller pornographic video.

Not as good as their first album, but pretty solid.

One of the most incredible cds I have ever listened to. It is absolutely mesmerizing. Not often do you find an album that can sound rough in some parts and soothing in others.

Love it!!

Probably the best hard rock album to come out in 2001. The disc is filled with quickie cuts filled with Heavy Metal riffs with Frank Zappa like experimental music. Come to think of it, Serj does resemble Zappa better than Zap's own kids do. Favorits on this disc includes 'Prison Song', 'Chop Suey', 'Jet Pilot', 'Needless" and 'Forest.' For those with any taste in the harder side of rock, this disc with overfill that appetite of yours. GO GET IT! NOW!!!

SOAD is the best thing to happen to music in a long long time. Where else do you find something so unique? Everything else is same old same old... system of a down mixes metal, rock, funky beats and a little regae... you can also find a little swing in there too (of course...i'm talking swing and blues riffs...) Great Cd though...although the first one I think is the best so far.

System of a Down rocks, they have their own sound and I love Toxicity!!!

Wow. What an amazing cd! From top to bottom, SOAD had me with every drum beat and every riff! There's hard (which makes up most of the cd), there's soft (Aerials) and then there's mixture of the two (Chop Suey, ATWS) Awesome cd, I recommend it to anyone and everyone ... well anyone and everyone that likes hard rock.
couchpotato 04/11/2002
SOAD are fantastic and the album is worth every penny. It's hard, powerful, different...... wow!

Another strong album from System of a Down.

one of the best albums out right now!

System Of A Down can best be described as a breath of fresh air. They cannot be categorized with any other band out there...they are so original and they sound like no other. "Toxicity", their newest album, just proves this fact. From start to finish, "Toxicity" is a wild rollarcoaster ride that makes you want to mosh, cry, break something or sit down and think about the world. Each song conveys a different emotion and message and the lyrics delve deep into the mind of System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian. From the politically-charged, lightening-fast opening track "Prison Song", to the slower, more melodic "Aerials", "Toxicity" is simply a masterpiece in the modern world of hard-rock. Another thing that impressed me was the fact that there is not a single swear word (other than "ass" in one song), whereas System Of A Down's debut CD featured more swear words than you can count, which really shows the band has matured over the recent years. "Toxicity" is definitely worth the fifteen dollars, and I would recommend it to fan of SOAD or to anyone that is looking to try something new...you won't be disappointed.
