DON'T EVER STAY HERE! ITS FILTHY AND CRAWLING WITH BUGS. DOORS DON'T LOCK. NO ONE WHO WORKS THERE GETS PAID. I GOT ROBBED EVEN THOUGH I HAD A LOCKING DOOR - NONE OF THE SLIDING GLASS DOORS LOCK AND PEOPLE CLIMB OVER THE BALCONY TO ROB YOU. No A/C. SCREENS NEXT TO DOOR ALLOW ANYONE TO GET IN THE FRONT DOOR. Anyone else who has been robbed here please speak up - this place needs to be shut down by the city. Its this type of place that gives Hostel's a bad name. Literally, the people who stay here are mentally retarded or have all sorts of additional issues.

And 1 star is too much. I would give this place negative ten.

Dirty rooms, rude people, NO SECURITY, NO SERVICE......DO NOT STAY HERE!!

These people and this place is the absolute worst I have ever experienced in hotel industry. They will ask for a large key deposit and do their best to not return it. Do not stay here

This review system needs negative star rating. 1 star is far too high for this dump. The managers are the filthiest white trash I have ever seen in my entire life. I have stayed in places in third world countries that would be considered 6 Star when compared to this Garbage dump. I made the mistake of paying a week upfront only to find myself booted after three days for complaining about the cleanliness and the lack of kitchenware. They called the cops on me too, which according to the officer they do all the time. So in summary between my girlfriend and I we paid $400 for 3 nights accomodation, we could have stayed in a nice hotel for that price. Which is what we ended up doing. You can get a decent hotel for $75 p/night including tax. Why would you stay in a backpackers.

The Pacific Ohana in a nutshell is a trashy and disgusting hostel! We showed up to check in and paid our $24 for the night plus a $25 refundable deposit and got a quick tour of the room. After dinner, we came back and was absolutely disgusted by the cockroaches crawling in every corners, in the cabinets, in the shower stall, and everywhere else you can think of! On top of the roaches, the room had an awful stench due to the lack of hygiene of the other tenants (basically managers don't care about who they rent out to) and also the sink was full of dirty dishes with dead roaches on the dirty plates and in the sink! The bed and the pillow was stained and I am sure the linens would not have done any justice to prevent from getting some sort of rash! So, after noticing all the nastiness, we decided not to sleep there and walked around Waikiki looking for another place to stay. Do yourselves a favor, don't even bother with this hostel, try the others or worst case scenario, sleep on the beach or stay at a hotel. Oh and the managers lack financial management skills because they deposit the refundable deposit together with the room rental in their deposit box and assume it's their money since they were not able to pay me back my deposit in the morning. This place should be shut down!

The Pacific Ohana would need a major renovation to be a dump. The manager would need finishing school to be white trash. The place is crawling with roaches, the managers are rude and treat customers like prisoners. I would get myself arrested and spend a night in jail before I stayed there again.
