 | abichara (60) 12/02/2006 | The only person who believes that John Kerry has any reasonable chance of being elected President is John Kerry himself. I think he'll run, but won't get more than about 10% in most of the primaries.
If John Kerry and George W. Bush was the best that our leadership class could produce for presidential candidates in 2004, then perhaps our country is in trouble indeed! Kerry was probably one of the weakest candidates the Democrats could have put up and Bush's performance in office left much to be desired, at best.
Give Dean his credit, the guy takes honest positions, even if it might not be popular to do so. That tells you a lot about his character. And his record isn't half that bad; in fact, his record in Vermont is toward the center right of his party--he supported gun owners rights, cut taxes, and promoted a good business environment in the state. His reputation as a liberal firebrand came about only when he started questioning the viability of our plans to go to war in Iraq, something which everyone, including the very people who planned the war, is doing today. If anything, what he said proved to be prescient!
Kerry on the other hand shouldn't even be considered for high office. Here's a guy who gets behind the war in Iraq during 2002, says that we need to escalate the war in 2004, and now says that we need to completely pull out. Kerry says that in retrospect his decision to support the war was a mistake because he had been "fooled" by the Bush administration! Really, who's the fool here? Kerry was privy to the same intelligence reports that every Senator got indicating the type of threat Iraq posed to the United States, along with the potential implications of a prolonged occupation. Kerry is a political chameleon; whatever's popular, he'll go with. Sounds like a great leader to me...

 | BIGBABY (10) 08/02/2004 | Howard Dean would have been a truly horrible pick for VP. Seeing a ticket with two guys from New England would have turned almost the rest of the country off. Dean's support dwindled down right right after his Scream. After that, people just laughed at him. Dean would have offered Kerry nothing but lower ratings.

Hey Butterscotch! How many deaths were there on 9-11 and how many have been stopped? Butterscotch? I think more scotch than butter.

 | Butterscotch Baggins (0) 06/15/2004 | John Kerry and anyone. Even Moe Howard if need be. George Bush has caused the death of many thousands of human beings (many of whom are children), and all for weapons of mass destruction that don't exist.
